I will be going to a concert at the Hard Rock this trip. I have been to Vegas about a dozen plus times and have never ventured over to Hard Rock. What would be the best way to get there? I am staying at Mandalay Bay I don't mind taking the tram and walking over to MGM, is a cab the best way to go? Also any info on things to do or try there would be great thinking about dinner at the Pink Taco.

It can be tough getting a cab back when you attend a concert at the Hard Rock so either plan on spending time there after the concert until the masses have left or what we did last time we attended a concert there was cab over and pre-arrange for CET limo to pick us up. We were staying at Paris at the time.

Concert night at the Hard Rock is a bit chaotic right before and right after the concert. The venue is about 4,000 people when full. Breanna61's suggestion of having a drink or playing a bit afterwards (or arranging a limo pick-up) is a good one. From Mandalay Bay, I'd just jump in a cab or limo... DO NOT attempt to walk down from the MGM.

Once the masses clear, things return to normal. The restaurants fill up before the concert too. Pink Taco is popular, so suggest getting there early, like no later than 6 p.m. for an 8 p.m. concert time. Mr. Lucky's 24/7 is diner type food and is ALWAYS a zoo before and after a concert. There's an excellent asian restaurant (FU) in the HRH Tower that never seems to be as busy as I think their food deserves. 35 Steak & Martini's is the property's upscale (well for the Hard Rock) steakhouse... casual to dressy attire and GREAT food. Nobu is there for sushi too, as well as Culinary Drop-Out off the main casino floor. Both have great food... Nobu is pricey! You might also consider eating across the street (Paradise)... Ferraro's is one of the best Italian joints in town, Kaizen is a fantastic sushi place and much less expensive than Nobu, Capriotti's makes killer sub-sanwiches over there too, as well as a Johnny Rockets. Paradise is well lit, well traveled and a crosswalk away from the Hard Rock... as is the Haufbrau House on the other corner with German fare and entertainment.

What to do? There's a Hart and Huntington tattoo shop down the hall where Pink Taco is... lots of glass area to watch someone getting one. Lots of people watch... it's not creepy. There's also a few clothing stores down there, but not much else. The Center Bar will be nuts before and after a concert, but there's several smaller bars (one right outside Pink Taco) where's you'll find it easier to get a drink. Also, TONS of music displays of artist's instruments, clothing, etc. ALL OVER the place and one can chew-up a bit of time checking them out.

Three Days Grace and Pat Benatar will be playing close to your dates... I've talked my wife into going to Pat Benetar. My wife hates to fly, so this is a big deal for her (us).

Hope you have a super time!!!

Thank you for all of the tips, I have always wanted to go to Hard Rock but never got around to it so we (Proud Mary) & I are going to the Pat Benetar concert as well. I may check out the steakhouse menu although we are going to a steak dinner on another night so will probably stick with the Pink Taco. Sounds like we may be there the same time maybe we can meet before or after concert for a drink.

We live near Cincinnati so we are looking forward for our girls trip its a 4 hour flight for us. You and your wife have a great trip too!

I love the Hard Rock vibe, having spent a portion of last Halloween there, and having stayed in their Lucky 7 Suite (with stripper pole and hot tub).
Fu is tasty, 35 Steak and Martini's is excellent, and Nobu is outrageously expensive.
But I love the music they play over the loudspeakers in the casino and the casino itself is bright and airy.

From experience I completely agree with Smartone... do not walk that distance. We went to the Incubus concert at Hard Rock a few years back and when we saw the cab line when we got out we decided to hike it back to MGM. Never ever ever ever again. If you do have the crazy idea of walking just be careful. Although there are usually a fair amount of people walking down Harmon towards the strip, there are parts that just feel a little sketchy. We were a group of 3 decent sized guys and there were areas I really didn't feel that comfortable.

I'm staying there solo and going to Pat Benetar too!
I have indulged in the preconcert 3 course at the Pink Taco
and it was quite good! Loved the 3 salsas. Had to go early and go back
to room for some liquid fortitude. Definitely don't walk from
MGM! Sketchy areas around there. I was comped
2 tickets and Katmu (Vmber) is going to meet me for other tickets. We are
2 solo ladies, so pm me close to the 18 th and maybe we can share a glass of cheer
Per or post concert. The Joint is a great venue!

Thanks PT for the info I am always looking for another nice Steak Restaurant and I wouldn't expect anything less from you than stay in the suite with the stripper pole. I do enjoy following your TR's
