I stayed there years ago, loved the room, a little pricier than I generally like only because I don't spend a lot of time in the room but I do remember loving the french doors and leaving them open at night, loving the breeze blowing in.

Anyway, I'm planning a trip in October and the casino tower rooms have a choice of pool view or mountain view; the pool view is an extra $20 per night, which is worth it if it's better but I can't help but wonder if $20 difference or not, is the mountain view just a better room to have in general? I don't expect the pool view to be of the great eye candy level in Octoberr so it's not so much that, just curious what people think who have stayed there.......thanks in advance :)

Forget the extra $20. Show up and if pool rooms are available, you'll likely get one. Plus, I've had rooms with both views and did not think pool view was $20 better.

Cool, thanks chef.......and as I said, wasn't so much the money as to whether the pool was even a better view straight up. Looking forward to it either way :)

WOW...JUST WOW.... I must wholeheartedly disagree!!!! The HRH Mountain view rooms in the newer towers are of parking garages to like the 6 or 7th floor and the in the original casino tower you look over the roof of the casino and entrance. The top couple floors have a decent view of the CVS across the street of course the airport.

The Hard Rock has one of the most beautiful pool complexes in Las Vegas... why would you want to look at a parking garage? If noise is at all a concern for you, then by all means take a mountain view as the HRH pools have allays got the bass thumpin'.

I do agree that there's a great chance of complimentary upgrade if they're not busy.

PS... in an effort not to have been "snarky" I should have tempered my "shock" (WOW... just WOW) at the previous post. Chef obviously has been there and has a right to his opinion on the matter. Sorry...

My experience a couple weeks ago in the old Casino Tower, end of
the hallway room 1171 was fine...I wanted quiet.

It was a Sunday and 'Rehab' was in full swing...shouldn't be the case in
October but...the pool view is great. Hallway windows in the Casino Tower
looked right down on it/my upper floor view...air port and CVS.
No French Doors in my room...kinda reminded me of the Gold Coast rooms
except the room was all done in blacks, grays, and white.

That said...I maybe looked out the window once.
If you're staying a few days and spend any amount of time in your room
with the drapes open, I always try to go with the best over all ambiance
possible. Mountain view still looks fine at night, pools always look good
in the daytime, and EVERYTHING looks the same when you're asleep.
