What Casinos hand shuffle the cards? I hate the auto shufflers..
Not sure but curious why you hate the auto shufflers. Keeps the game moving faster and can't think of any disadvantage to the players.
I can't think of a room I've played in that uses manual shuffling anymore. Maybe something lower-budget and off-strip? It makes more sense for the casino to keep the game moving along, more hands per hour, to get more rake from each hand... those things pay for themselves.
I always prefer the hand shuffle as well. If I happen to play at an auto shuffle (which is one of the items I look to avoid when choosing a table along with 6/5 or hit on soft 17) and go on the slightest losing streak, I find another table. Noticed the last time I was out there, the auto shuffle was usually at the lower limits a lot of the times. Usually the auto shuffle and hand shuffle are both on the floor for most casinos, it is just a matter of choosing which table.
The high limit room at the Monte Carlo hand shuffled everything the last time I was there.
fyi, this was posted in the Poker Room section. So I assume he is asking about poker, not other table games that can get hand shuffles.
In which case, I'm not sure why you'd want hand shuffle either. Its slower.
Only time I've seen it is at Caesars Windsor, basically because they switched out 3-4 different shufflers and none of them were working.
The reason i ask is I play at the horseshoe in Bossier City LA. alot and it seems that the auto shuffler puts good cards on one end of the tableyou can tell this by looking at the chip stacks! I've sit there and for 3 hands in a row had the exact same cards. Now the dealers don't do a very good job of washing the the cards after every hand that may be why. I also play at the Eldorado in Sherveport LA. and they hand shuffle the cards and the chip stacks are spread around. JMO
As a poker dealer I can tell you for a fact the shufflers work well at sufficiently randomizing the cards. If you play long enough you will eventually get the same cards back to back but remember they are coming from 2 different decks so that means very little. If anything you should avoid hand shuffled games as they have at least a very small chance of a less then random shuffle from a lazy dealer. Shufflers are scientifically proven and also maintained by the company that leases them to the casino. As far as which casinos offer no shuffler I'm sorry I don't know but it really shouldn't matter.
yeah the auto-shufflers have 2 decks running so getting the same cards 2 hands in a row is complete luck. where the chips seem to flow is all to do with the quality of the players, not what shuffler is used.
Yeah I'm guessing te auto shufflers are not the reason that one side of te table is winning more than the other.
If you are a comp grinder. If your a local looking for hours to qualify into a freeroll tournament. If you like a friendly home game atmosphere. And if you don't like seeing more hands because it's a lot of work making good decisions quickly then you are going to want hand shuffled card rooms.
Everyone has their own preferences. Let's not tell the OP why he shouldn't want what he wants. I wish I could help you out more but every time I went to Las Vegas over the years the rooms that were hand shuffling the cards slowing started converting over to machines until I didn't see any on my last trip.
My best guess of the places with games still running and dealers who hand shuffle the decks would be the Orleans, Palms, and Eastside Cannery.
