So I have a variety of questions regarding Halloween. It falls on a Monday this year, which is unfortunate. I'm going to be annoying and post my questions in bullet-point fashion. Sorry if some of the questions overlap.

    - I assume the weekend will be more of a party than Monday night?

    - Downtown or Strip for Halloween night?

    - What are the options? Do clubs on the strip do anything special that weekend? Are there any good events that pop-up around that time?

    - Costumes are probably everywhere. I just hear you can't wear hats or masks, but pretty much anything else is acceptable?

    P.S.
    Please don't mention Circus Circus

    Thanks in advance!

Pretty much all clubs will have costume-wearers that weekend and have contests. I'm surprised you can't wear a hat in Vegas. Is that only on Halloween because I see many wear hats or caps on other days, especially in the summer?

I always thought a higher percentage of the people Downtown get into the spirit of the holiday. You'll see people dressed up on the Strip but not as many. More outlandish Downtown.

Sorry, I should've specified--I heard that you couldn't wear hats and masks in clubs, and no masks in the casinos

I think you'll have fun during Halloween. I like watching the girls costumes throughout the weekend nights. I almost forgot that I am planning a four night stay there this year from Sunday to Thursday. Don't know how lively Halloween Sunday or Monday will be. We've made it a tradition to go for the birthday of someone in our group. Her birthday is on November 1st.

    Hi Joast

    Yes costumes everywhere
Downtown is crazy wild and takes hours to catch a cab back to the strip
Most clubs have contests and I like Voo Doo lounge - drink the witch doctor
Hard rock has huge Halloween ball in the weekend also hard to catch cab
Things might slow down by Monday - Friday - Sunday will most likely be intense

Downtown is definitely the place to go. So crowded you can barely move and some of the best costumes I have ever seen. I did it once and never again. I am to old for that kind of crazy.

I was staying downtown at The D last year on Halloween. It was packed. All restaurants packed. Long waits. Don't be too hungry.

Hold on, why cant you wear a hat on halloween in Vegas? Is this correct?
I wear a hat all the time! I never leave home without one!
Even if I don my non-assuming pork pie or stingy-brim fedora???
What will they do if I do wear it on that day?

OK, good to know. I was going to go with my black gambler's hat. Like Clint Eastwood in Good and the Bad and the Fugly. I wanted to go with a scowl on my face, not with tears running down my cheeks!
    Cuz Clint dont cry!

Every year the biggest bash is the Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball at The Hard Rock. Here is some info if you are interested:

    http://www.fetishandfantasyhalloweenball.com/

I have gone to Vegas over the last couple of Halloweens, and there are a lot of costumes to be seen, but (as previously stated) you cannot obscure your face with either a mask, one of those huge fake beards or heavy paint - basically anything that disguises your facial features. It doesn't make sense that you wouldn't be allowed to wear a hat since people wear hats every day of the year in every Las Vegas casino.
