I'm having a week in Vegas sometime between 28th October and 7th November, depending on flight costs. Are there plenty of places to buy a Halloween costume in Vegas if I am there for that?

Just don't get a mask. Not allowed in the casinos. I know a gal that last year was given the boot downtown (I think at D or 4 Queens) for having full face paint on.

Mask, you can't wear a mask in the casinos.

Well, believe what you want limo driver, but it happened. It happened to a 64 year old woman that was doing nothing more than walking through the casino (actually heading outside to the FSE when this happened according to part of her trip report).

The one negative thing that I encountered happened at the "D" casino. Two burly security guards approached me and pointed towards the door. "NO FACE MAKE-UP" one sternly said.

In the noisy environment, I thought for a quick moment, that they we complimenting me on my artistry, so smiled at them. (I'd had some compliments and thumbs up at other casinos). It then hit me what they had said. "I thought that only masks were forbidden. My face is not unrecognizable." The other guard frowned and repeated the gesture towards the door. "NO FACE MAKE-UP." Can2do was standing with me, so I shrugged and said to her "Well, I'll just leave then."

There's also a picture of her make up if I could figure how to load it on here from Photobucket. She was a snow leopard and it wasn't even full face paint.

Well it would be a disguise and like a mask it is a no no. Only makes sense to me. Casinos want to see your face.

Hmm, like I said I know for a fact cause every year I go to 3 or 4 halloween parties and even gambled after some. Not sure if they are doing something suspicious.

I remember reading her trip report and viewing her picture. Looked cute and innocent enough, although I can see how making a positive ID on her without make-up would be difficult.

Too bad, but I can see why the casinos do this.

Plenty of costume shops open near strip. Friends got some last minute this past year. I had crazy zombie face paint last year and was escorted by security from Encore door to Surrender night club. Was not allowed on casino floor. Regardless of play. However, Cosmo did allow me to play. Perhaps bc they knew me?

i didn't say I didn't believe , I said I didn't hear of that before. Hard Rock, Mandalay Bay, South Point, Orleans, Monte Carlo, CP and Bellagio I have had no issues, and that's a fact. Last year I was with a group of 30 people and security never said anything. I just think its kinda funny and odd for a casino do say something on Halloween. Also some of the clubs throw costume parties threw the year and I have never seen an issue.

2 year ago I was asked to leave the Strat due to Face Paint. We then went downtown and played all night with no problems. I guess each is different and the security guards attitude plays a role...

Here is the picture of what Kodidog looked like last year. We were in about 10 different downtown casinos that day and only the D threw her out.

Yep....I did NOTHING to bring extra attention to myself.

Walked in with the group doing an all day 'Stumble', and played at a few penny machines in an out of the way area for nearly an hour. Put $20 in and took $40 out (maybe THAT was the problem, LOL).

We were to meet at the front door 'on the hour', and as I headed there (the door was in sight), I met up with another of our group heading out. Two very large, very serious security staff who looked like they'd been linebackers at some point in their lives walked up to us, shoulder to shoulder and one did the finger swipe towards the door.

Never spoke to me in a full sentence, just pointed and ..."No Face Paint!" This occurred twice, since I did not 'get' what he was doing, and had just caught the 'face paint' part. Thought he was complimenting me...bwaaaa!

If I hadn't had a witness to the 'order', one might think I was exaggerating. Since I really AM a pussycat (and lead sort of a dull existence) in my day to day life, it was the most exciting thing that had happened to me in years, LOL!
