Great info, westie! We are staying at NYNY so will definitely have to make a stop there during happy hour.

They do have some good cocktails in that lounge. I had a Hemmingway daiquiri last time I was there - very tasty. Plus, the bartenders are very friendly and the waitresses serve the nearby HL room so they are very...talented.:wink2:

I applaud their effort, but being a cocktail snob and I was really disappointed by the alcohol selection and execution of the cocktails when I was there a few months go. The pic of the Sidecar with the heavy sugar-rimmed glass looks like an abomination. For a marketing photo, I can't believe they used that much sugar and they didn't use a fine mesh strainer to get rid of the bubbles floating on the top. That said, they picked good alcohols for the drink, which is super important.

Also, there's other things that bug me, like lemon twists are dumb. A basic lemon peel is much more functional and classic looking.

Personally, I think American Fish's happy hour is a better bet for good craft cocktails. The bartenders aren't perfect, but they are significantly better than Hit Bar and Lounge. The lounge food and atmosphere is excellent as well.

    Yeah, I'm weird about cocktails.

I usually stay on eastern time, so a 5 o'clock happy hour is a perfect time for me to get my classic drink on!
