    My Trip Report

I'm going to try to do live updates, but I'm not sure I'll be as good at doing it as the other TR's that I've loved reading so much on here. I'm going with a group of 4 guys for my first trip to Vegas without my Dad. We're staying at the Mirage for the first three nights, and myself and another one of the guys are staying an extra night at Harrah's. I'm currently working a half day and getting nothing done as I count down the hours until my 4:40 flight.

I only have so many days and nights I can get away for. A late flight would feel like a waste of a day to me. However, we work with the hand we're dealt.

OMG. That is too funny. Laughing so hard I'm crying though I have to confess I'd be the same way, which is why I don't think I could ever do a live report. It would turn out like this one. :haha:

I might be able to do it solo, but I dunno. I'm pretty damn "go go go" when I get there.

    Day 1 (Wednesday May 11):
I landed about 7 PM Vegas time. By the time I caught an uber and checked in to the Mirage, it was almost 8 PM. Two of the other guys were already there, so I headed to their room to meet them and figure out dinner plans. I hadn't had anything to eat since 1 eastern time, so we decided McDonalds at Harrah's to do something cheap and fast. After that, we spent most of the night casino and bar hopping. I made some money at the Venetian, lost some at Oshea's and made some at the Mirage. I ended the night down, but only about 40 or 50 bucks, so not bad.

    Day 2 (Thursday May 12):
Even though we stayed up late, all of us had trouble sleeping in, so we started our day about 8am. Grabbed something quick for breakfast and started walking the strip. We didn't really mean to walk as far as we did, but we ended up all the way down at Monte Carlo. We stayed there and played Blackjack for a little bit. I won a little bit there, and moved to even on the trip. After an hour or two at Monte Carlo, we started walking back to the Mirage. We stopped at the new Beer Part at Paris. I really liked this place actually. There were games like life sized Jenga, Shuffleboard and Connect 4. We drank there for a while and played shuffleboard and decided we needed lunch. We ate lunch at a bar over near the Linq. I have no idea what the name was. It was decent, but really just overpriced bar food. During lunch, the group decided that we would do a club crawl that night. We headed back to the room after lunch to book the crawl. I was exhausted at this point, so I spent the afternoon napping. After my nap, I met the other guys at the Mirage buffet for dinner. I had eaten the buffet before and wasn't very impressed, but it was pretty good this time. After dinner, we all got ready and walked over to PBR Rockbar where the crawl started. The crawl was awesome. We did Sin City and went to Hakkasan (awesome), Drais (also awesome), and The Bank (meh...). It was a late night and didn't get back to the room until 4 am.

    Day 3 (Friday May 13):
Again, I couldn't sleep in (it was a theme throughout this trip). Woke up at 8 and laid in bed until 11 trying to go back to sleep. After giving up, decided to grab a quick/cheap lunch at Panda Express and head to the pool. We stayed at the pool for a couple of hours relaxing, which was nice. After leaving the pool and showering, we decided to casino hop during the afternoon. I started the day losing a quick 150 at the Mirage. From there we went to TI, made all of my money back and some. Then we headed over to the Wynn/Encore. I didn't gamble here, but we started watching some higher stakes roulette and blackjack. We decided from there to catch an Uber to downtown. Ate dinner at Nacho Daddy and walked Fremont. I like Fremont, but I think the other guys were disappointed. It was tough for me to enjoy it with them being Debbie Downers. Also didn't help that I lost 100 bucks in about 5 minutes at the Blackjack table. We didn't stay too long downtown. We went back to the strip and ended up at 1Oak nightclub in the Mirage. I didn't particularly like it, but I think the other guys had a good time. Spent a bunch of money this night.

    Day 4 (Saturday May 14):
Two of the four guys left on Saturday. The other guy and I decided to stay another night, but we added it after we booked the Mirage, so we were staying at Harrah's for Saturday. It was a little annoying to check out and check back in somewhere else, but not too bad. We were tired, so we napped a little when we got up to the room. We were given free tix to see the Mac King show, so we woke up for the 3pm show. I wasn't expecting much with it being an afternoon show, but I thought he was pretty good. From there, we decided to go casino hopping again. I got killed at the Carnaval Court tables. I made a little at the Linq. We stopped at a bar in Paris where a Boyz II Men style group was performing (they were awesome). We ate dinner at a pizza place at PH that was really good. We then went over to Monte Carlo again for some more Blackjack. I made about 50 bucks and my buddy won about 100. We then walked over to the piano bar at NYNY. We stayed there about an hour and walked back over to the Monte Carlo casino. I won a little bit again and my buddy won again (no one in our group ever lost at Monte Carlo). After that, it was about midnight and we decided to walk back and call it a night.

    Day 5 (Sunday May 15):
My buddy had a flight early, but my flight wasn't until almost 5:30 (or at least was supposed to be). He left and I stayed in the room as late as possible until checkout. I spent the afternoon alone casino hopping. I got down almost 200 at TI, but worked my way back to make 15 bucks. I then walked back to Harrah's for one last BJ session before leaving. I made 55 in my last session. I'm not exactly sure if I ended up down or up for the trip because I used so much cash to pay for everything else, but I didn't lose all the money I brought, so I'll call that a win. Leaving was a huge pain. The security line was as long as I've seen at an airport. Then my flight, which showed as being on time, left an hour later than it was supposed to. I got home at almost 2 am and I'm struggling today at work. Great trip though! I'll maybe wait a week or two to start planning my trip for next year :goofy:

Good succinct report. I'll be staying at the Monte Carlo over fourth of July weekend, hopefully I won't be able to lose there either:thumbsup:

Nice report - you covered a lot of territory and sounds like a good time!
Interesting about Monte Carlo; while staying at Aria and consistently losing on slots, we'd skip over to MC for an hour every day and win our money back on slots only to lose it again at Aria, lol.

Yeah I guess I was a little too ambitious thinking I'd want to post every hour while I was there. Oh well.
