    My Trip Report

Great trip! Will summarize in bullet/thoughts form:

    * Forget 12:01 AM - printing an online boarding pass before you leave for the airport is enough time to get that coveted 'A' SWA boarding pass.

    * Is there a better match than a pre-noon flight to LAS and a Bloody Mary at the airport bar?

    * If you're holding an 'A' on SWA, sit down, relax....the last 'A' to board STILL gets you an aisle in the first 6 rows and empty overhead storage.

    * From now on, every future trip: Jim from Presidential Limo is taking us to our hotel. The consummate professional, great car, great champagne, great conversation, great start!

    * $50 trick on a sold out weekend at the Mirage only gets you a desk clerk with a look in her eyes that says: "Damn it, damn it, damn it! I wish today was a Tuesday!"

    * The room? I THINK it was nice. Too busy hanging up our shirts before rushing back downstairs to the casino!

    * Ahhhh...nothing like drinks in the casino lounge while planning the first evening's activities.

    * D'oh!...nothing like losing your first session at the craps table. Sign of things to come?

    * We really had to check out the Peppermill Lounge for a midafternoon drink. Ambience was everything I had hoped - problem was, nobody was there. That's okay - it still rocked!

    * Over to the Riv to play some Craps and BJ. What? 2x max on craps? They still took my money. After not grandfathering in our $5 limits, and asking us to "keep it down" (can you believe that?) we headed back to our corporate resort.

    * Feeling good...back to the room to change for dinner....Taxi!!!...to the Hard Rock

    * HR: hook up with more of the fellas. More drinks at the "bar in the round".

    * Hunger strikes fast! Quick, over to Mr. Lucky's. Gotta be luckier than craps so far!

    * Whoops. Lost one of the boys with his face in his empty plate! I'll get his ass back to the Mirage - you guys go ahead.

    * Now I gotta do OG's and Cheetah's solo! Just not the same......okay, so it was the same :D

    * Luckily, a three hour nap by Mr. Face-In-Plate was enough and he was able to meet me over at Cheetah's for more fun.

    * Back to the Mirage to hang out at the casino lounge while we enjoyed watching the visitors cruise Hooker Row (okay, okay, I know that's not a nice reference...just a joke)

    * Back upstairs - set the alarm for 11am - maybe we can squeeze in 4 hours sleep

    * Saturday morning: check the phone. OHMYGOD! Did I call all these people last night?? That's way too many "drunk dials"

    * Mirage has the coolest pool. I miss a lazy river thingy, but the oodles of shade and waterfalls makes up for that.

    * Restaurant at the Mirage pool has great service, prices, and food.

    * How in the world can so many people holding drinks in the pool not spill them?! I guess when you pay $10 for a pina colada, you hang on to it for dear life!

    * Back upstairs for some traditional, late afternoon TV and snoozing. Then, after 30 hours of being checked into the room, I finally get to check out the shower (actually, shower/tub combo :( )

    * Head down to the casino lounge again while we wait for my local buddy to pick us up to take us over to the Palms for dinner at N9NE at T10N O'clock (table for F5VE)

    * This place (the Palms) is nuts! Kids everywhere lined up for those damn Real World nightclubs! Wouldn't they rather be on the other side of that roped off area enjoying the sights/sounds of the casino?

    * N9NE rocked! Best lamb I've eaten in a loooong time. Great service. Great company. Fine wine. Oh, the eye candy!!!!!!!!!!! Only complaint: they couldn't get us in to Ghost Bar. Good! That means we can go back to the Peppermill!

    * This place (Peppermill) needs to give classes to the big resorts on how to provide that "old school" Vegas feel! Steve, you listening?

    * Okay, two straight nights at 5:30...enough is enough. Set that damn alarm for 10 this time - we got planes to catch.

    * If you don't play much on your player's club card, they kind of laugh at you when you ask for comps at the checkout desk. [IMG]

    * Forget shopping for the kids at the airport again - I'll just stop at Target on the drive home from the local airport.

    * Only time I enjoy BK is hungover at an airport. Bloody Mary? Are you kidding? Blech!

    * Oh, by the way, that 'last-A-on-SWA' thing worked again.

    * Damn, it's nice to be away from that sinkhole of a city!!!!

    [24 hours later]

[IMG] I cannot possibly wait for my next trip!!! God I love that town!!!!!!!

Good 1NE. Gonna take a while for Mr Face-in-Plate to live that one down. And you're not offending anyone here with the Hooker Row comment, if you've been in a casino lounge at that time, it's so true.
