Just did a 1 night trip to one of the Indiana riverboats (been going there about once a month recently). The place is usually pretty laid back. Got checked in Thursday afternoon and started my gaming at a $5 Crazy 4 table. Little did I know the guy I sat next to had been drinking heavily the previous day and that day. I asked him how the game was going. He immediately tried too hard to be buddy-buddy, talking too loud, mostly about himself, cussing like a mad man and not making much sense, and repeating himself. His comments to me had nothing to do with what I said to him, so I quit talking to him. He did mumble something about being cut off the booze. He eventually left and became a pest at the 3 card poker table next to me, then disappeared for awhile. A lot of other players were pissed at him. When I saw him later at the same tables (after I had supper and played some other tables), he was a lot quieter. Maybe he was sobering up, but I avoided him. Got the trip off to a bad start. My bankroll didn't fair too well that day, either. The next morning, things got off to better start. Had a couple of nice hits on a slot machine and an Ultimate Texas Hold'em table that lessened the bankroll damage, Went back to the Crazy 4 table for bit before heading home. Playing 3rd base, there were 2 open seats to my immediate right. An older guy I had seen playing the game earlier sat down next to me and had a couple of good hands, and I did, too. A woman sat down in the empty chair to his right. She lit up a cigarette and he immediately starts complaining to me about it. She starts getting the good hands he was getting and he starts complaining about her stealing his hands, repeatedly (of course, this was avoidable if he had picked the other seat to begin with). I got tired of this real fast, looked at my watch and what was left of my bankroll, and decided to head home. This was the most irritating trip I have had as far as other people making things very unpleasant.
