Okay.....some comments on his memoir (sp ?)
    .
Most the entire band was addicted to smack when
    their albums started to explode.
Geez, what is it w/ the smack + musicians ?
    .
Gregg Allman speaks quite a bit about his own addiction
thru the history of the band.
He mentions "I snorted it".......but fails to state
    that later he injects.
He mentions "Cher found my 'works' in a pouch."
....the guy was on something 24 hrs a day....ugh....
    for years + years....ugh......
    .
Duane Allman held the band together......when he died -
that was pretty much the end of the band.
    .
Gregg had hepetitis C - along with everything else.
He says he probably got it from a dirty tatoo needle.
Ah ?.......intraveinus drug user ?..HELLO ?
and maybe he doesn't realize it but you can get it from intercourse.
And he states he had ALOT of woman.
    .
    he says he's sober now.......well I hope so......but alot
of people have different definitions of "sober".
    * read the Motley Crue book w/ the nice Hollywood ---"we're happy
    sober, fathers, now" - ending.
And those guys are still using on occasions + still getting caught
by the law w/ it as well !
    .
Gregg + band pissed away a fortune in money.
He signed away 100% of his publishing -- OH GEEZ -
just how stupid can ya be ?.......100% stupid, I guess ?
    .
I forgot how "ground breaking" a sound they had
in the beginning of the 70's.
    .
    I think he had 5 failed marriages.......why bother ?
    .
Nice read + history of Allman Bros band.

Let's hope he's sober, he got that liver transplant. I thought it was a good read. It all did go right downhill after his brother died.

I read a lot of music bio's. For one where the drug use really gets nuts, try "Three Dog Nightmare." It's the lead singer of Three Dog Night and he goes from famous to homeless. Slash's bio had some good parts too.

David Crosby too - his autobiography was all about drugs and sex.

I just finished the Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx the guy from Motley Crue. That one took the drug use top prize. He'd overdoses, is brought back to life and then when he wakes up in the hospital he immediately leaves and goes home and shoot up again.

I will check out the David Crosby bio, sounds interesting.

Yeh, I read the Nikki book.
I am not a fan of their music - at all -
but I couldn't put down his book.
    As I mentioned -- the ending is B.S. !!!

I didn't even see you mentioned that..and then I just finished that book. Weird. You are right, there is no way that guy is not using now and then. There is no way he stopped.
