I'm going to be in Detroit Tuesday & Wednesday for the auto show. I got a good deal on Hotwire for the Greektown.

Does anybody know if they comp drinks?

No. They do not comp drinks there but I stayed there recently and really enjoyed it. The rooms are very nice and the casino was fun.

Not that you will get mugged in the casino but be careful as on 3 occasions had someone try to take chips at the craps table. this is over 5 year of gambling a few times a month. It is safe but a different environment that Vegas.

Sorry I missed this message Chess. I hope you're having a good time.

Not really a trip report but, here goes. The pluses; location, we had free valet parking, nice room, food was good. The not so great; the room could have been cleaner (it wasn't dirty it just had some spots that had been missed), they're cheap with toiletries, no buffet for dinner, very few gluten free options, no gift shop (I like fridge magnets from places). The only comp drinks are coffee and soda that you serve yourself. The serving area looked kind of rough. We had dinner at their coffee shop, I made do with the Cobb salad. They did have a good breakfast buffet where they make omelets and waffles in front of you.

The auto show was good. It only took us a few hours to walk around. We're used to an entire day shlepping through the big motorcycle show in Toronto. It seems like there's more to see at the motorcycle shows between the manufacturers and the accessories. They didn't have a few of the vehicles we were interested in seeing. Which was kind of a bummer. But, they had other vehicles we had wanted to see. I got my picture taken with the Michelin man and I sat in the truck that pulled the last space shuttle to it's museum home. And some of the manufacturers were giving out those nice shopping bags. I needed some new ones so it was good timing.
