I stayed in a Roman Tower room when I used to stay at places like IP, Tropicana Garden Rooms, or Circus Circus Manor Lodge. It was great in comparison, especially the location. But most people who stay at Caesars, usually want a newer, more up-scaled room like in the Augustus, Octavius, or Palace Tower.

Back then, I didn't care too much about the room. I've become a snob since then. But if for economical reasons, I would probably choose Flamingo or Bally's over a Roman Tower room at Caesars. These casinos are also in the midst of the center strip.

I booked Roman twice but got upgraded both times for free so I can't give you what you're looking for.

I also booked Roman tower and got upgraded. They put me in an Octavius room and this was for a 6-night stay. Octavius had just opened back then. I had no status with TR and I didn't even try $20 sandwich.

I think Caesar's is big on upgrades, because they have a lot more upgraded rooms than they have Roman tower rooms. So, there seems to be always an over-supply of free upgrades. I'd say risk it and hope for an upgrade. Worst case, you'll be in the middle of the strip in a somewhat Excalibur-level room.

We have stayed at Caesars 3x; each time we were offered an upgrade to a nicer tower (twice comped, once for $30/nt). Hey, you are in Vegas--gamble!

Both of my friends booked Roman rooms this past May. Both got upgraded to better rooms than my Augustus....lol. With no 20 dollar trick either.

I have only stayed in the Forum rooms. But a $20 tip will probably get you a Forum Tower which is much better than Roman. It's relatively small in sq.footage and most of the Forum rooms don't have much of a view, but otherwise they're fine and located in the Forum casino at the front of the hotel.
I have a buddy who stayed in the Roman rooms a while back and he said it was OK, he's sort of like me, just a shower and sleep guy and went to Vegas just to bet in the Sports Book.
I had a choice between Roman and Forum comped rooms and chose Forum, but if you're anywhere near the rate between Roman and Forum i would go with Forum. It's up to you if you want to use the $20 tip, you may even get the Palace Tower, which is more spacious and close to the pool.
JMO, but i love the property so much, if Caesars awarded me a Roman comped room nowadays, which i no longer get anymore, i'd probably even book the Roman Tower.
I may be a glutton for punishment, but what better place to fulfill your gluttony than Ancient Rome.

book roman and ask for an upgrade. flash a $20 if you want but may not need it. or give it to them afterward if they hook you up. stayed 2 weeks ago with a roman tower room booked and we were upgraded to augustus with fountain view. 4 nights
