Just got back from a trip flying Southwest Airlines and read a great article about downtown Las Vegas in their December "Spirit" magazine. Fortunately, they publish online also. It's by Joe Schoenmann ("Joe Downtown", whose articles about downtown frequently appear in the Las Vegas Sun). Well worth a read for downtown fans:

Thanks for posting. Just yesterday I was poorly trying to explain to my brothers (all DT fans) what Zappos/Heish was trying to do to the area.

I have to email this to all 3 of them.

One "NEVER EVER EVER" has to sell me on downtown ( or off strip for that matter). Being a value player person always liked it more than the strip. HOWEVER that's said whenever my next trip out is .. and that will probably be YEARS OUT for a lot of reasons.. wil have to spend at least half of my time to see the new "joints" on the strip. Yeah its been/ and will be that long befor I getout
