First off, just want to say Hello to VMB land. I have been lurking on the site since early summer 2015, before my 4th trip to the MECCA in late July. Appreciate the vast amount of info and ability to follow along with others trip reports.

Prior trip info...Stayed at TI, gambling between TI and Palazzo only. With the Grazie card I accumulated 9,800 Status Points. Have since had Marketing Offers from both properties. Also, have been contacted through email by V/P Casino Relationship Manager(Host?). Offer i'm considering booking at V/P is three nights suite comp, with $175 slot credit.

    1. How much coin-in would be needed to accumulate said Status Points?(only played reel type slots, $1-$10 denom.)
    2. Is this offer a Marketing Offer or something more based on my play and being contacted by a designated host?
    3. Not trying to chase comps, but would I be leaving any back-end comps on the table if i just book over the phone as opposed to contacting the Host while there?

    Thanks In Advance, Raven.

I'm am not the resident expert, but my wife and I on a recent trip did about the same amount of play and got a similar offer from a Venetian host. We took them up on the offer on the next trip. As far as I know, there's no direct pts to coin in conversion as Grazie is based on theoretical loss at 10 pts per dollar of theoretical loss, so 9800 pts=$980 theo. I saw a UNLV study that said strip ave hold in 2015 is 7.8%, but I've seen others that say up to 12%. Since you're playing high dollar I think you could use something on the lower low end to guesstimate coin in, but I will say the slots in both Venetian and Palazzo seemed tight, so maybe $10K -$12.5K coin in? (10% hold to 8% hold)

I'd definitely use the host. We contacted him after we got the email and he gave us 3 weekday nights (Sun-Wed) comped upfront and $135 in back end comps. IIRC we did a bit less than 20000 pts ($2K theo) worth of play between us on VP and slots (weren't tracking coin in), so it seems like they do a little over 30% of theo for comps assuming rooms are somewhere around $160 per night.

Thanks for starting this thread. me and my wife just came back from a three day trip to V/P and we accumulated 22k points from slots and imperial baccarat and im really hoping to get free room in the future. I wish the grazie site was more like mlife and total rewards where it shows you ur offers.

If you have 22k tier points on your card from a 3 day visit you will get comped offers soon from V/P. Their online Grazie area does show your offers so you know you have generated something, they just no longer give any details on what is included in the offers and for that you have to wait for either email, snail mail or call for the details. They used to give details on the offers online but stopped doing that when they were hacked online a year or so ago.

Welcome to the board and Grazie, our home base!

With Grazie, pretty much everything starts as a marketing offer (by the way, the fact its a "marketing offer" doesn't mean it isn't based on your play - it is. In fact, as your play adjusts so will your marketing offers. The offer you got, other people got the same thing, only their offers might have been anywhere from $50-$1000 in free play (or more!)). You will get a lot of them over the course of the year. Some months you'll get 3-4 slot tourney invites + a base monthly offer + special events/offers throughout the year. Once you have an offer in hand, reach out to the host and see what he can do to sweeten the deal. If you ever want to go and don't have an offer, reach out to the host, and he can do something there also, but we have the best luck when we already have an offer in hand. I'd recommend keeping in touch with your host, and he'll learn your tastes and preferences and can assist with those requests or desires as well.

We've been working with the same host at Grazie for the past 2 years. He's gotten to the point when I email him about an offer to see what he can give us, he anticipates our needs and lets us know how he can adjust the offer to better fit our desires/expectations. Calling the 1-800# might give you the same $$ value in comps, but with a host you can often get it in a different form.

I've been getting emails from my CRM which link to a totally different site than the Club Grazie page and shows all of my offers in a very nice format. I don't even log into my Club page unless I'm checking points.

I have too. Unfortunately it's an account specific link and not something you can just log into. It's contained in the marketing emails. It isn't actually from the host just has his contact at the bottom for you to get in contact with him.

I'm currently at the Palazzo right now and have 28K points after 2 days just strictly playing slots. Can anyone chime in on what kind of backend comps I should be able to receive? Thanks!

Did you go in on a comp offer, did it include anything above comped room? Are you getting extra points to reach the 28k in 2 days because you are gold or platinum level? Need to know that before one can take a guess.

I apologize for the lack of details. I have Grazie Gold, and just came in on a regular comp room for 3 nights. Points are actually now 36K, and have been here since yesterday afternoon. Thanks for the help!

Wow, that's a lot of points in two days! I hope you everything taken off. We came on 3 night comp and got 20k points in three days but couldn't take any meals off, we ended up using our earned comp dollars.

    Hi speedfile:
What's the formula for comp dollar at venetian? I know $20,000 coin in for slot at cet equal to 4,000 points, and that's $40 comp dollars.

If you don't already have a host assigned I would go to the host desk and ask them to remove some of your food charges. I would think you would get at least $150 and perhaps more taken off.

I have a new host here who I just met 3 months ago. I normally stay at Aria and decided to give V/P whirl. So far I've been treated nicely here, but I'm still figuring out the comp/points system here. Also, the slot machine selection is limited and have been very, very tight.

It's all based on Theo atV/p. For 2500 points you get 15$. But nobody can tell you what coin in that is. It all depends on the Theo win of the games you play.

In a typical stay for us we will earn 10 to 15k in points on average per day. That is with me playing a lot of tables which don't earn points, automated tables which earn negligible points, video poker which warns reduced points and the wife playing slots.

We would get more for the same play at get and possibly mlife, but it's worth it to us to stay at V/p.
