So I'm going on a Cruise in about 3 weeks. We have excursions planned for the other 2 ports that the ship will dock in, Jamaica and Mexico. But not one for Grand Cayman.

This Island looks very laid back. So for here we are just looking for a nice casual place to eat. I've read you can pretty much walk Georgetown, which is what we are wanting to do. Anyone been? Any ideas?

    Thanks for any info

When we cruised RCC to Cayman we chose to eat on ship and shop near the port so I can't make a restaurant recommendation, but you may want to check out Cruise Critic message board for not only port restaurants but all types of info by fellow cruisers. Here you will find threads for various ports of call and restaurants etc:

I fell in love  with Grand Cayman on our first cruise! Great people, awesome vibe...

My bride and I did the dolphin encounter and trip out to Stingray City. We dined at the snack bar at Dolphin Cove--hot dog and a Mountain Dew!. (Probably not the recommendation you're looking for, NYNYGirl.)

While being shuttled to and fro our excursions, I did notice a lot of little local dining places/bars near the port, but I can't remember any names. I did see a Burger King, too, but probably not the Grand Cayman experience you're looking for. :faint:

I believe I saw a Hard Rock Café somewhere near the Harley-Davidson store in the shopping area just down from the port.

Hope my comments help more than hurt...

Lol...Any and all comments are helpful and not hurtful.

As far as Cruise Critic, I have been on their site. Seems the most they talk about are excursions with dolphins, stingrays and just laying on the beach. I like to see and visit places.

It's been a long time since we were in Grand Cayman, but I remember eating at the Hard Rock and that it had a great view. That was one of the best cruises we ever took. Bought my wife a Rolex after hitting 3 royal flushes in the ship's casino.
Hope you have a great time! Cheers.

There is a great Italian restaurant just as you're leaving Georgetown toward the beach resorts. I'm trying to remember the name, it might be Casanova. We've been there a couple of times. The food is excellent and it overlooks the water.
The Hard Rock and such are really just tourist restaurants. If you like them in other cities, they're the same here. If you don't like them...

Would definitely like a restaurant with a nice view. As far as Hard Rock we will definitely be paying them a visit but only for a T-shirt. Gotta keep that collection up. Anywho hoping to find a nice seafood place.

In tems of a great view and chilled and relaxed I would say Catch Restaurant and Lounge. However. We had a very good meal at Edoardo's on Seven Mile Beach. We ate inside so not much of a view but great food. Enjoy your trip

Thanks for that. Have heard of Seven Mile Beach there, will look further into it to see what restaurants are in that area.

Though I think we may have found a place. It's called Guy Harvey's Restaurant & Bar. Just hoping for a good choice since we will only be there one day.

    Thanks everyone for your input.
