I was supposed to go with a group to Vegas July 6th. Plans changed, and now I have to figure out a hotel for the trip and everything is sky high prices. Is there a good website where I can search for a decent hotel? I'm sharing with one other person, so hoping to pay $80 or less but I don't know if that's realistic looking at the prices. For some reason they jumped up like $50 in the last week.

I personally prefer smartervegas.com so I book direct with no additional fees.

I second checking smartervegas.com, great deals and you are booking direct, so you can always cancel if necessary (within the cancellation rules of course). If you sign up on their page, you can get unlisted deals as well.

Go to totalrewards.com, click on Las Vegas at the top of the page and put your dates in and it will give you the rates for the next 30 days from 7/6. Remember to add $18/day resort fee on top of the price you see. You will be booking directly with them.

    Hope this helps.

I like this search engine which will compare a few discounters. It compares prices with one search and it covers downtown and off strip places better than smartervegas.
Then if I can get the right price at booking.com, I book with them because the money is not taken out all ahead of time.

Always call the hotel directly if booking with a discounter to see if they might match the deal. Some do.

If you have a B Connected card, the prices on the site for Orleans, Gold Coast, Sam's Town, etc. are generally very competitive. Remember to add in the small resort fee, although about half the time it is promised with bookings on B Connected but not collected. Last trip Sam's Town collected it and Gold Coast did not.

click on the links down the left side of this page
    - you might find something.

You show one previous trip to Vegas - where did you play? If CET, the rate calendar might give you something.

Join Facebook pages. Sometimes they have offers.

It's pretty hard to get a rate of $80 on a Saturday. Ever. It's rare to find anything under $100, also there are a lot of events that day, and it's a holiday weekend.

What are your dates besides the 6th? If you are combining it with the 7th and 8th or something you can get a deal since those dates are so reasonable.

Here are some deals I've found. If you want something nicer than these properties you are going to have to go up to like $115 or $120 for like MGM...

    Harrah's $79, $26, $26

    Luxor $104, $34, $34

    Excalibur $82, $24, $24

Like others have said, if you have a TR card i'm showing the 6th, 7th, and 8th (if those are your dates), at $41 dollars with 2 nights comped at Bally's and $51 at Flamingo (also 2 nights comped). If you don't carry any cards i would also suggest smartervegas if you care to go that route. The 4th of July weekend is the priciest of the Summer.

Something tells me they aren't much of a gambler if they are looking for a super cheap room. But yes, if you have any of these cards log in and check there.

Or check priceline or Hotwire :)

Or sometimes JetBlue. There are times where you can find deals $200 to $300 cheaper than Expedia or any other of the other travel sites.
