    When our friends arrive they want to be able to sit on a patio on the strip and have drinks/eat. Are there any good bars/restaurants right on the strip with patios on the strip? I'm thinking more on the Mandalay Bay side...but there many not be any until you hit New York New York? I know there is the nacho place past the Quad on that end of town..can't even think of the name. :beer:

    Twin Peaks has my favorite patio, Dirty Blondes and people watching is great way to waste an hour or two. Great view, but I cannot speak highly of the food. Get grub elsewhere.

    Nearly all the new Linq eateries/bars have patio dining.

    the hard rock cafe, just down the same side of the street as the mgm, right about across from Monte Carlo.

    they have a happy hour, 3 dollar drafts of coors light and bud light and half price appetizers.

    while i would have preferred a microbrew, for the price difference and the fact that i was just killing some time and needed a bite before the show upstairs at the hard rock, the coors light was acceptable. waitresses were in a shift change and while my order was taken promptly, she then got distracted by a manager, and realized finally that she had not served me. from that time on, service was great, had some wings, and when it was time for another beer, she said it was on her.

    being nice paid dividends!

    anyway, i ate and drink inside at the bar, but the sliding glass door out onto the second floor patio looked like it had a great view of nyny and monte carlo.

    If I was in Vegas for just one day and wanted a decent meal, with a fabulous view of the outdoor action, Mon Ami Gabi is a no brainer.

    Food, Service, Setting and the Bellagio Fountains! :beer:

    Beach Café at Tropicana has a great patio overlooking the pool area. Great low key spot to grab a sandwich and cocktail.

    @Thread starter...
    If your at Mandalay Bay you could do Mix Lounge or Foundation Room. These are in fact outdoor patios on the strip. They just happen to be on the 64th floor!

    Rhumbar at Mirage is cool. Good for people watching coming in off the strip into the Mirage. Smoke all you want. Lots of people smoking cigars and hookas (I think). A louder party vibe.

    Prime at Bellagio has a nice little patio. The best fountain view there is! No smoking and very quiet non-party vibe.
