My wife and I have never owned a set of new clubs, we always buy used.

Anyway, we rented clubs at Angel Park and she fell in love with the Ping clubs she got, so she is buying a set of the same clubs as I write this.

I have emailed my insurance agent about this, but waiting for an answer. I'm fairly certain the clubs would be covered under our homeowner's for theft or damage at home, but what about at a course?

You know how it goes, finish the round, head in for food & beverage in the clubhouse and the clubs are sitting outside. What if they are stolen then?

I know, I know, wait for the agent's response, but it is a $1,000 investment and I was just wondering if anybody had any experiences?

With my watches I have a separate rider that covers theft anywhere I take them. My agent told me otherwise they were only covered if they were stolen from home.

I love watches, unfortunately, I just usually window/internet shop. If I wasn't so practical, I'd probably have 30 of them, but just 3 now.
    Casio
    Swiss Military
    Tag Heuer

Some day, there might be a Rolex in the picture.

I loved the thread a few years ago about someone saying it took too much time to look at a wristwatch, they just look at their phone.

You would need a pretty low deductible to get any value for that insurance, and that low deductible would increase your costs quite a bit.

You can buy used clubs for 1/2 price or better that are just like new, golf is a hard game and alot of people quit.

The only rider I currently have is my jewellery because they leave the house. You'd have to price it out and see if it's worth it or not.

And then look into your car insurance. Clubs spend more time in the trunk of the car than anywhere else.

dope slap. I forgot all about the deductible. Ours is high, w/o looking, I think $5,000.

Maybe a rider would come into play?

Why not just lock them in your car trunk when finished. I have done this for years without any problem. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Standard procedure when I finish golfing. Drive cart to car. Put clubs in car. Return cart and eat & drink.
    Deductable will be your problem.
Not sure how often the wife golfs, especially where you live, but I would buy a used set of Pings.
    Any TR coming?

Schedule the golf clubs on your homeowners policy, it should be fairly inexpensive and when you schedule them, it wipes out your deductible.

Our deductible is only $1000 but if in the car trunk it would fall under home owner insurance because they are not "attached" to the car. With that being said i am sure at a golf course they would be safe in your trunk, much safer than left outside.

I could be a total watch freak if I allowed my self. My current stable is three swiss automatics and a couple Citizen Eco drives for daily wear.

    Tag Carrera

    Breitling SuperOcean

    Formex DS 2000 LE

I am wearing the citizen right now at work, its pretty much a copy of the TAG, but man you can't beat these Citizens!

Oh, you watch people!! Next thing you're going to say is you don't drink tap water, right?!?

I'm quite utilitarian in this regard. I have a TAG, but it came from Costco. My other device is a Garmin S1 for the course. I don't even use my rangefinder any more.

Joe, on your original inquiry. I've actually never really thought about it, and god knows my clubs go all over. Post round, if I have a car, I trunk 'em. Or I'll check 'em with the attendants. I did have a set of clubs -- my first Pings now that I think of it -- go walkabout. But at least they stole my car, too. (My bad for overnighting the clubs in the car and residing in crime-riddled Murrieta, CA. lol)

I started using a Garmin mid way last year. It changed my life! WOW, what a piece of equipment.

I'd never have purchased one for myself, but this was in the swag bag at an event and I figured I'd give it a try. Guess the whizzier units have lay up yardages and the like. I'm cool with the rudimentary one. And if you know the course anyway... (Love me a good yardage book, however.)

Go find the other thread down there on courses folks play. You should enjoy it.

So, what can I sell you from the Ken2V Pro Shop and Haberdashery?
