Ran down to Tunica this week and learned that the poker room at Goldstrike is closing in January. Not really surprised. There have been fewer and fewer players there over the past few years. And with Horseshoe next door expanding their room, it kinda makes sense.

As for what will replace it, nobody knows for sure. I heard all sorts of rumors from the dealers. Everything from more slots to a new bar to a new high limit room

Small poker rooms are dying. Either you go big or you go home.

They just remodeled the high limit room in the past year, or so I thought.

I hope it's not more penny slots!

If they remodeled the current high limit room recently, I have not noticed. It was packed yesterday, so maybe they are just realizing they need more room. Then again, each dealer I talked to about it had a different rumor about what would be done with the space, so who knows

Maybe they didn't do the slots, but I know they did the table area. I wouldn't mind seeing them expand the area, they pour better drinks in there!

Did you notice if they have the new host booth open?

Yes, its open now. The corner bar next to it, however, is still closed. Looks like they are also building a new mlife desk next to the food court. had not noticed that previously
