Have never stayed at the Gold Nugget they have some good rates right now plus a $50 Landrys Card included if booked by Feb 14

We were either thinking the Carson Tower Room or the Gold Tower Deluxe
I do not need the best just something clean and comfortable. What are the differences between the two rooms. I would love to try out the new slide on the swimming pool. Is it worth the extra money.
    Thanks

    I love the Golden Nugget.

I am looking at that deal also!

The slide through the shark tank is fun! You go too fast to see the sharks but you can get in the pool and walk right up to the glass and watch the sharks and other fish - the tank is in the middle of the pool.

When we go we always stay in the Rush Tower - very nice rooms for the price!

I would highly suggest the Rush Tower - if you have a few extra dollars you get a very nice room that would cost far more else where!

Can someone speak to the Landry's gift card, do I have to be a Landry's member to use the gift card?

I have gotten an email from both the Landry's Select Club and the Golden Nugget with the 50$ Landry's Card offer. It does not say you need to be a member to get the card.
And I think if you are a member you get a free room upgrade by using it and i think 10% off the room price + the 50$ card.

There is limited to no difference in the room quality between the Carson Tower and North Tower. The North tower elevators are located right next to the casino and much closer to Fremont street. The Carson tower in my opinion is well worth the savings as it is not that far of a walk and you go right by the pool. I have stayed in both and choose to save the $10 per night but the choice is yours.

ive not stayed there in a few years but when we did, we always stayed in the tower with the elevators that are toward the back of the property by the cafe.. As said above, you get to walk by the pool but it is a looong walk to the casino and Fremont.

The carson tower rooms are actually bigger than the gold tower rooms (with a larger washroom). I would never accept an "upgrade" to a gold tower room.. unless it would decrease the cost of an upgrade to the Rush Tower rooms that is (which are aweeeesome!).

PS. The promo he is talking about:

If you have a Landry's card: Promo code LSC213.

This gives you 10% off current GN rates & a $50 gift card at check in. You MUST show your Landry's card when you check in. *Must book by Feb 12 for stays until June 15*

If you don't have a Landry's card: Promo code EB2713

Can be used for current GN room rates but you will also get a $50 Landry's gift card at check in. *Must book by Feb 14 for stays until July 31*

I love the GN. Only place I've stayed since 2007. Comps are easy to get and I like the atmosphere. I'm not picky on rooms, so I've stayed in Carson tower and Gold Tower. Carson is a bit of a walk, but I like walking. Gold tower is nice if I'm with a buddy I play craps with, because the tables are just 'feet' away from gold tower elevators.

Shark tank is fun along with the slide. I enjoy the pool and large Jacuzzi. My wife and I sat in the pool for four hours last trip and had drinks. Just awesome!

Thanks for the info on the Carson Tower vs the other rooms. Hubby and I are staying at the Golden Nugget for the 1st time next month and I believe we're booked in the Carson Tower.

As far as the Landry's Card ~ we had already made out reservation and booked by phone directly on a promotional rate. (Didn't know then about the $50 Landry's card.) Anyone know if that promotional rate would affect our eligibility for an upgrade? We don't have a Landry's card yet ~ not sure where to get one or if it's worth it?

To get a Landry's Select card you can just go to their website. There's a $25 fee to become a member, but the card they send you comes loaded with $25 on it to be used at the restaurants. They also give you $25 during your birthday month.

Forgot to ask in the previous thread. Thanks for all the info

Which would be the best tower for the least amount of noise? Is the higher up the better? I don't mind walking either.
Do all the rooms have coffee pots?
    Thanks

Have never stayed in any tower but the Rush Tower. First trip I was floor 15, 2nd trip floor 21(25 floors in all). Personally I never heard any noise that would be worth complaining about, but I know I met an older couple in the elevator staying on the 7th floor and jokingly said they would pay to trade for the 21st because of all the noise they hear at night. Also the Rush Tower has Keurig coffee pots, but you have to pay for there pods, but if you bring your own its free.

When I request a Carson tower room (the tower farthest from Fremont st.) I ask for a room highest floor possible, non smoking, strip view, at the end of the hall. These are the rooms that are the longest walk to get to, but they're quiet! I like the end of the hall due to no traffic at all. You do get sirens a lot, but I keep the fan running for white noise and it's great. It takes me about 7 minutes to get from the room to the casino floor but the walking is fine with me. I've never had a problem with the elevators either.

I've also stayed in the Gold tower just steps away from the tables. Those rooms have been super quiet in my experiences too.

As a person who has only stayed on the strip ( other than 2 nights at Red Rock ), and loves Wynncore, I think GN is the only choice if I decide to try downtown. Also, I'm on a budget these days and I can't justify $1255 for 5 nights vs. $455 ( Rush ) for the dates I'm looking.

How nice is the regular Rush vs. Strip properties? I doubt it would be Wynncore, but where does it lie in the scheme of things?

You picked a great weekend to be at the Nugget, as it's the official hotel for the Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival. There will be lots of interesting people watching. I go every year!

The Carson tower also has Keurig pots, $10 for four pods, I believe.

My wife needs it to be pretty quiet at night to sleep so which would be the best 2 or 3 choices to stay? Gold, Carson and Rush or any of them as long as your on a high enough floor?

We haven't stayed in the Rush tower but have stayed in both of the others. IMO the rooms are very nice and sufficient for us....we don't spend much time in the room so don't feel the need to upgrade to Rush tower. I don't recall ever having a problem at GN with noise or anything. I'd ask for a quiet room on a high floor at front desk when checking in.
The regular rooms have a nice bathroom and then a desk/vanity outside with a makeup mirror you can sit at if you want to do your makeup there.
