I am considering upgrading to a Rush Gold Club room but, not sure that it's really worth an extra $50/night. For the most part, I'm drawn to the room decor and the new factor. We ordinarily wouldn't pay for wifi but we will certainly use it if included. Water and coffee are relevant perks for us but the spa/fitness center is a wash since I almost never work out in LV (despite my best intentions).

I'd be interested to get opinions from anyone who has stayed in both room types. Feel passionate either way?

We stayed in August. Was really happy about the extras. The water and trail mix/m&ms in the afternoon. Coffee and muffins in the morning was good. The elevators need your card and there is a side check in. Personally the room we had was really nice and we will re book it in the future.

    I'd go $25 to $30 a night, not sure about $50.

Nubia, if you are not going to use the workout or spa facilities then it is not a good deal. A better play would be to spend $25 on a Landry's membership so that you can use the VIP check in (also a perk of Gold and Rush Club rooms) and you can stop by to use the VIP lounge for a free water or juice. Plus, you get the $25 back in comp at most of the Nugget restaurants.

You might consider it for the newer updated rooms but not sure that would be worth the $50 per.

I think I know the answer to this but I'll ask in case I'm wrong.

If I booked through Hotels.com can I get the Landry card upgrade?

I stayed in one a couple weeks ago, and have stayed in the Regular Rush rooms numerous times before. I was offered the upgrade for 30 a night at checkin, and took it.

For 50 a night, I don't know. What hasn't been mentioned, is the Rush Club rooms also have a small refrigerator, and the in room Kureig cups are complimentary. Plus you get a VIP line pass for the Buffet etc. That matters to me when I need my bacon in the morning.

The Decor is a lot brighter than the Rush Rooms. Better shower head. This was a big plus for my wife, as she always complained about the big rain heads in the Rush not having the power to get her conditioner out. Easier to get out of the tub too. The bed linens are very, very nice.

And a plus for some is the snacks, water, key access, and guaranteed a high floor. And of course, everything is "new". Some of the Regular Rush rooms I have stayed in recently are showing signs of wear already.

I upgraded in August from a Carson Room to regular Rush room for $40 a night. That still made it only $79 a night to stay there. I turned the clerk down the first time and then reconsidered. I was not offered the upgrade, I asked. She refused a $20 tip.

I'm a huge fan of Rush Tower. There were some minor glitches, nothing serious. Oxy is right about those tubs/showers. I dam near broke my leg getting out of there one morning. The sides are much higher than normal.

They are very convenient to all areas of the casino.

Thanks for the post. I am already the proud owner of a Landry's card but, I booked under an offer for our upcoming stay so, as I understand it, the perks associated with the card do not apply. Agreed that the card is worth signing up for though.

Yes, I believe that you have to book directly with Golden Nugget (by phone) to put in a request for the Landry's card upgrade. I believe that you also have to book at the standard rate to be eligible for upgrade.

I was wondering about the decor. I like the standard Rush rooms but I do find the color scheme a little bit oppressive. The brighter looking decor of the Gold Club room definitely appeals to me. I just have to decide whether that, combined with a couple of perks, is worth the extra dough. I'm tempted to roll the dice and check on an upgrade when we arrive but, it looks like we are coming in on a busy weekend so, I wouldn't be surprised if the Gold Club rooms are sold out. Oh the dilemma.

If they were to give it to me for $30 a night I would go for it but not $50. I'm doubtful that they would offer it for less, I arrive on a Friday. The regular Rush rooms are sold out according to their website, but not the Rush Gold Club. You never know! For $30 the internet, free coffee, spam higher floor and a quick breakfast would be worth it. I normally stay at the cheapest rooms, which can be great at Wynncore, but it would be nice to feel like a little Bigshot!

I arrived on a Friday, when the Regular Rush was sold out that weekend, and was offered the upgrade for $30 a night. Be sure to ask.
