We are staying at the GN in April and usually take a taxi from the airport. But I noticed on the GN website that they have their own shuttle, direct to the GN for $18 roundtrip. Seems like a good deal to me. I'm wondering if anyone has used it and if so, how was your experience? I like the idea of not having to explain to a taxi driver the route to take to get me to my destination!

We took a taxi to GN about 5 years ago and it was the taxi driver's first time he ever went downtown. He had no idea how to get there. He finally found it and stopped right in the middle of Fremont street right under the canopy and let us out of the taxi. All the other taxi drivers were beeping and yelling at him. He said he had to go park and he'd find us later so we could pay him. One of the funniest things ever happened to us in Vegas.

Don't know how many shuttles they have at the GN but how likely is it that it will be there at the airport just waiting for you? How many people in your party? i would just take the taxi. No need to explain to the driver how to get there, they should know.

Wow, didn't know this. Great tip.

Yes actually, we have partnered with Airline Shuttle (AS) to provide our guests with an exclusive non-stop direct shuttle service to and from McCarran Airport. All guests arriving at McCarran Airport Terminal 1 will exit Door 8 (eight) from baggage claim and Terminal 3 will exit Door 51 (fifty-one) from baggage claim. Roundtrip from McCarran or GNLV is $18.00. One way from McCarran is $9.00 + $1.00 airport fee = $10.00. Our bell desk can also set up a shuttle for your return trip to the airport, but they do need a 24 hour notification. Book your Airline Shuttle. There are also taxi cabs that can drop you off at the front doors of the Golden Nugget. Taxi rates vary but on average cost approximately $40 for up to 4 people.

I wouldn't just call this a GN shuttle. Looks like it stops at all the hotels. I wonder approximately how many stops and how long it actually takes to get Downtown...

You can reserve this shuttle online. You give them your airline and flight number so they know when you are arriving. The shuttle goes directly to the GN without stopping. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it yet. I think we will give it a shot in April.

I've taken this shuttle numerous times from the GN to the airport. Great deal. Each time I have taken it to the airport they only did a pickup at the GN and before we knew it we were at the airport. No other pickups along the way. :peace:

So... do they check to see if you actually have a GN reservation when you book this?...

Great info! We've stayed at the GN probably a dozen times, twice since Halloween, and we had no idea about this.

Still, if you're willing, for a dollar or two (depending on your age) you can just walk across the FSE a couple of hundred feet to Binions and catch the WAX. Gets you to the airport in about half an hour. I think the walk from check out to the WAX is no longer than to the back of the GN where the shuttle probably comes.
