I've stayed at the GN and I really like the Rush Tower rooms. Just curious how the Gold Tower rooms compare? Thanks......

They don't at all. The lower floors of the Gold Tower are very smoky, worse than the Carson tower. Once you go Rush, you can't go back.

+1, exactly right. Rush is well above Gold Tower. We stayed in the gold tower, not worth the extra $, would stay in the carson if we wanted to go "cheaper" than the Rush.

Rush tower is much nicer than both of the other towers and the Rush Gold Club rooms come with some nice extras - free wifi, fridge, free in room coffee and water, spa passes - that we enjoyed having.

Agree with all. Rush is really nice. Hoping to get upgraded from a Rush room (not holding my breath) to a Rush Jr. Suite or Rush Gold Club next week (whoo hoo, leaving Sunday!)

I was a frequent guest of the Nugget back about the time the Rush Tower was under contraction and opened. The Gold Tower used to be referred to as the North Tower and the Carson Tower as the South Tower. The Gold Club rooms (16th & 17th floor) in the North Tower (Gold Tower) were kinda the model for what the Rush Tower became and are very, very similar IMHO. At least at that time, the North Tower (Gold Tower) was considered a "cut above" the Carson Tower (South Tower) and prices reflected it. The Carson Tower was and is the longest walk to the casino and the oldest of the rooms. Doubt too much has changed, but I last stayed there in the Rush Tower 3 or 4 years ago.

Your assessment is pretty much "spot-on." I have stayed in Carson Rooms (a nice room, but your standard fair); Gold Tower (closer to the casino, yes, and a bit nicer of rooms); and Rush Tower (the nicest, so far, of the rooms, however, a walk to the casino floor, but not as long as Carson). Never stayed in any of the high-end rooms. Rush Tower has nice, dark tones, an awesome bathroom, and nice lounging couch. I like it, and, because I got it for a great deal, went with it. I have no problem going "back down" to the Carson room, though, because I am frugal, most of the time.

Thanks for all the responses, much appreciated. I've had great rooms in the Rush Tower, and from the responses there is no need for me to stay in any other rooms at the GN. Thanks again everyone. :peace:
