    Hello everyone,
I appreciate everyone's previous input on helping me choose my Downtown Hotel. I finally have it narrowed down to 2. Golden Nugget Carson Room or The D King Deluxe Room. Both are reasonable for the time that I am going. I will be staying for 5 nights. The Golden Nugget Carson Room is only $65.00 more TOTAL (after both properties resort fees) for the 5 nights vs. The D King Deluxe Room. I am a smoker, so I would only want to stay in the Carson Room at the Nugget. My question is, is it worth paying the extra $65.00 to stay at Golden Nugget. The room does look larger and nicer than the Deluxe King at The D.
My only concern is that I don't plan to gamble or eat at the Golden Nugget so I'm not sure if it would be worth it to stay there. I would like the nicer room but I'm just wondering if it will be an inconvenience to stay somewhere that I'm not playing or eating. I'm also not a pool person so I won't be using that.
Any advice on which one I should choose? Has anyone stayed in either room recently? Thanks so much in advance!

I stay at the GN for a week twice a year. I don't gamble there much but love the property. IMHO staying in the Carson rooms is fine, very short walk to Fremont St. The Carson rooms are very nice and Fremont St. is literally about 50 feet from the Carson Tower elevator bank. I have never stayed at the D so I can't offer any advice on that one. Have a great trip. :peace::beer:

Thank you Mike! I think the Golden Nugget would be the best option for me. Even though I won't play or eat there, I do like to lounge in my room for awhile between gambling sessions. Helps with my bankroll lol.

I think you will be happier at Golden Nugget. I think my stay at the D last week was in the deluxe room, but there were no chairs beyond the straight one at the tv desk. The GN Carson on the other hand, had two nice chairs and a table. I enjoy having a spot to sit and have coffee or cocktail while catching abit of tv. As well, I think you will enjoy the quieter GN tower...the D seems to be noisy no matter where your room is.

Forgive me if my recollection is incorrect, but the Carson Tower is in the back of the property, no? It's closer to 500 feet to Fremont than 50.

Yep, my bad. I was thinking about the exit by Starbucks, but that is on the backside of the property. Actually it's a little bit of a hike to Fremont St. from the Carson Tower elevators. Sorry for the bad info OP, Kevzilla is absolutely correct.
