First of all, thanks to everyone for suggesting this casino. It may have made me a strip convert! (spent 3 nights downtown - initially only thought of spending a few hours).

I spent about 8 hours playing Pai Gow Poker in the Golden Gate pit - (yes, nice scenery) at about $30/hand over two nights.

Will that garner any type of room comp? If so, how do you find out - simply phoning the Player's Club number?

Secondly, is there any 'quiet' room at all there? How about 2 beds? I really value quiet rooms with soft beds.

Spending my first night there next month, so I can't speak to the rooms yet...

However, I'm staying there as a comp for what amounted to about 5 hours of Pai Gow Poker at $20/hand in December.

Since then, I've gotten mailer comps for 3 nights a month, plus $20 food credit and $15 slot play every 2 weeks. So, I would imagine you should be seeing something similar, if not more.

You will almost certainly receive a mailer in the near future. Free rooms - in the old area - are easy to come by at the GG. Just don't expect much when you get in the room.

Ask for a room on the back side of the property. Those will be quiet. You could also ask what the cost is to upgrade to the suites. That's where I normally stay and they are fantastic.

    May mailers?

Last mailer I got was for February/March.

    Anyone gotten April/May + yet?

    Thanks.

We stayed there last month and asked this specific question. All the rooms with 2 beds are at the front of the hotel overlooking Fremont. If you want something quiet, you'd have to have a room away from Fremont but you'd only be able to get one bed.

The suites are very quiet and overlook the parking lot out back. They have a king size bed and a couch/bed combination so that might work for you. When we stayed in the suite last year, the rooms had free Wifi as well (just the suites, not the regular rooms).

As long as there is no thump-thumpin' from the Fremont side, I should be alright!

    Thanks for the information!
