I'm checking out the rooms at the Golden Gate. Looks like the top room I can book online is the Golden Gate Suite. But there is the Penthouse. It looks pretty legit in the pictures. The description says it "invites big betters" but for the GG, what is a big better over a weekend? In other words, how big of a player is needed to get this room?

I have looked into the penthouse suite in the past. It was in the $700 range during the week and double that on Friday/Saturday night. This was during late January though. I emailed them using the "contact us" on their site with dates and they replied within a day with the rates. The outdoor area looked awesome with the whole grill setup.

$700 is the room rate or what they're wanting bet per hand?

That room is pretty nice. Got to stay there in March of 2014. Dumb luck upgrade for a weekend with my brothers. 1600 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 3 baths, wet bar, poker table under the dining table. Grill, sofa, and fireplace out on the balcony. Huge bathrooms with steam showers. 3 TVs in the living room, one in each bedroom, one on the balcony. Sound system with speakers in each area and room, controlled by an ipad to play the sound from whichever tv where you want it. It's only on the fifth floor, so there's not a great view or anything, but the entire floor of the hotel is just the two penthouse rooms.
