    ah, the old 8 hours of slots trick. well played.

    a billiards and darts joint downtown... does anybody offer those things east of the canopy? seems to me there's a place people reference that you can shoot pool downtown, but i've never seen it, nor have i looked for it.

    i'd say i'm sorry to see the spike as we know it go away, but that would be a stretch. i wasn't above staying there on the cheap, it just never happened because there was always a property elsewhere that met my needs when i needed cheap accommodations.

    i guess i am sorry to see it go. any time a beloved low-budget joint closes, even if it's one i don't patronize, it means less options for the fiscally conservative traveler in the future. when i travel solo to vegas, i don't pay for luxury.
