Does anyone know if the Gold Coast has in room safes? I was there about a year ago in renovated room, but no safe, just wondering if they have them now?

They don't have safes....one of the things that keeps me from staying there when I'm trying to fill in extra comped nights.

I've stayed there a lot over the years and just tuck the $ and CCards away deep into clothes and make SURE the door is locked behind you .I do not use housekeeping,I tell them I'm ok in the AM and just get Coffee etc w/tip..No worries at all.

I'm no expert on Gold Coast but my understanding is that the rooms do not have safes. Guests have access to safe deposit boxes at the casino cage.

Problem with using the casino cage for security is I go with my wife with the envelope method of budget. Easier at the Orleans to "go to the bathroom" and beat a trail upstairs, open the safe, steam the envelope for an extra hundred, reverse field and return downstairs to continue. One can be observed standing in line at the casino cage by the significant other to access funds which is not cool......but a better budget plan....

Thanks for all the replies, last time I was there I left my stash in a locked samsonite and did,nt have any problems, but I do like the piece of mind of having a safe in the room.

Just stayed there two weeks ago. Had a great time.
We had a premium room and there was no safe.
Getting a safe deposit box at the cashiers cage is quick and easy.
It took maybe 6 minutes to fill out the paperwork and have the photocopy my ID. No problem. It does keep you on a budget.
We will be returning in April.
