    Hello All!

I'm staying at the Wynn for 4 nights next week. Would love to play some video poker either at Wynn, Venetian, or TI (all fairly close). I've done a bit of reasearch (i.e. 9/6 JOB is the "best" game - but not generally available anywhere) - so i'm looking for suggestions of where to play and what game - so i can print off a few "strategy" sheets and go from there.

Ideally would like to put in no more then .25Cent X 5 or 1.25 per spin...

    Any help appreciated!
    Andrew.

I really don't know anything about TI's video poker inventory. But I do know that Wynncore's is far better than Venetian/Palazzo's. There is almost nothing playable (IMO) at V/P. And between Wynn and Encore, stick to the Wynn side for the larger selection of good paytables.

One caveat about Wynncore: they will not comp your drinks while playing on the bartops. But cocktail service on the main floor is quite good and they do, of course, comp your drinks there. If you aren't a drinker, though, have at the bartop games. They're some of the best on the strip.

As far as what game to play...I say play the one you enjoy the most. Gambling is entertainment. And while I'm a firm believer in learning as much as you can and finding the best paytables you can, what's the point of playing a game you don't enjoy just to save $2.17 an hour in expected return?

Don't take all of Wynn's money. I'll be arriving Thursday and daddy needs a new pair of shoes!

    Hey :)

Thanks for the reply! My only concern about the Wynn is that i put it in Vpfree and it looks like all the VP machines are $5 per play..a little too pricey for me! I did see that Venetian had JoB 25 cent at 98.45 (spin poker). Would the Wynn have any lower limits?

    Thanks!
    Andrew.

Also wanted to add - i'm not a big drinker - so no comps are bar tops is not a huge deal for me! Are you not expected to drink though? Thanks for all your advice :)

Vpfree is a great resource. But it is far from complete. And, it usually only lists games with less than a 2% house advantage. And for the quarter player on the strip, those games will be few and far between.

I'm certainly not an expert on the matter. Hopefully, our resident VP nerd and IPA aficionado, tringlomane will chime in to help you out.

As far as the bartops at Wynn...no, you're not supposed to abstain, you're supposed to knuckle under and pay the exorbitant prices they charge for a cocktail!

Chiming in! Unfortunately I have personally written off scouting Wynn so far because they don't comp drinks at the bar!

But VPFree says they have 7/5 Bonus with a progressive (98.01%+prog.) for quarters on the floor. Pretty good for a swanky place like the Wynn!

    http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/wynn-las-vegas

TI does have 9/6 JoB (99.54%) at the 50 cent and higher level for reduced player points according to VPFree2. I did see some of these machines on my April trip on the floor near the main bar.

And TI should have 2 Double Super Times Pay machines that have 7/5 Bonus (98.01% when betting 5; 98.51% w/DSTP betting 7) for as cheap as nickels! No strategy changes to play Super Times Pay or Double STP. And if you use the touch screen on these type of machines, you can max bet any number of lines you wish! Last trip they weren't too far from the poker room, near some spin poker machines by "Seafood Shack".

I've also been informed that Venetian has 9/5 DDB (97.87%) for quarters in the Bourbon room. But any time I go into the Venetian, that place is so busy I can't get a seat!

Also Venetian still has one "Quick Quads" unit for as cheap as nickels!

    http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/venetian-resort-hotel-casino

You don't have to play the quick quads bonus bet if you bet 5 instead of 6 credits, but if you want to try quick quads, the strategy is a lot different because hands like 77752 (5+2=7) become a quad when you bet an extra credit! Aces count as one for the sums. Only hands ranked 2 thru 10 eligible for quick quads.

7/5 Bonus with Quick Quads (98.29%) strategy:

My last quick quad in Vegas...too too long ago. See why I held the 5?

Full pay of this game exists at Ellis Island for nickels!!! They have a great steak special!!! Decent hike from Wynn though. :(

Other good quarter (or less!) games in terms of return are more of a hike.

Casino Royale as 7/5 Bonus (98.01%) on their 50/100 play games for as cheap as dimes, and on most of their quarter games.

Bellagio has 9/5 JoB (98.45%) for quarters at the Sportsbook Bar on their SuperStar machines at the interior of the bar. You can also set the 8/5 Bonus (99.17%) triple spin poker machine to bet one line at 5 quarters instead of the max bet of 27 lines! Yikes!

Cosmo has 98.91% Deuces Wild for pennies on their 100-play machines. Like STP, they allow you to bet max without betting all the lines. These also have 8/5 Bonus (99.17%), 9/7/5 DB (99.11%), and 9/6 DDB (98.98%) for dimes. Note: The 100-play near Book and Stage requires a $1 min bet.

    http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/cosmopolitan-las-vegas

Going in the other direction, Circus Circus has some 99%+ games for quarters. Also some of their bartop progressives can be juicy. Last time I went the Sports Bar had an $1800 royal for quarters, making their best game 6/5 Super DDB (97.69% before progressive) payback almost as much as 9/6 JoB.

    http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/circus-circus-hotel-casino

Unfortunately, they aren't as plentiful since the CET purge of 2015, but 98%+ quarters are still trying to hang on on the strip.

If you want to play a bunch of 99%+ quarter games, you're better off getting a bus to downtown unfortunately. :(

I was just at the Wynn and there are plenty of .25 VP machines, including the aforementioned progressive bank, which was up to around $1,200+ for a royal as of last week, maybe more. I can't tell you what the payables are though because I don't play quarters.

Thanks so much for that crazy detailed response! I'll be sure to hit up that progressive bank at the Wynn you mentioned! Sounds fun =) And the tips about ther est of the Casino's are great. ACMike - thanks for the notice that the .25VP machines DO exist =) Haha!

I've had more luck at the wynn playing VP than anywhere. Plenty of decent .25 VP. Not as good as downtown but the ambiance is much nicer.

TI has about 10 slant top machines with full pay JoB and Bonus Poker at 50,$1,$2 level. One bank outside HL room, the other is beside players club desk.
