So I'm going to Vegas for work to a big convention and my allotted nightly per diem is under what the hotels are charging per night. Yes the event will be huge and these hotels will have no problem filling vacancies.
I would like to stay at Luxor as it is convienent. I need to book 8 rooms.
I realize it's a long shot, but does anyone have any ideas to get them to lower the price a little.
Luxor is the most convienent for us to stay.
We are DoD if they offer military discounts
    Thank you,
    David

I would call their group reservations dept and ask them. They usually have pretty good rates. If that is still too much, I would try Excalibur, its right next door with a tram to Mandalay Bay and indoor walkway to Luxor, there rooms are usually 10-20 bucks cheaper and not that much worse. Also remember that these hotels and most on the Strip will charge a resort fee of $25 a night. If you see a room rate of $100, the resort fee will make it $125. Good luck.

Try trivago and get an estimate for what low rates should be, then try calling them and seeing if they can match/beat it. If they can't then just book through trivago.

Hotels used to have "government rates" for federal employees. Don't know if they still do but it can't hurt to ask.

They do offer a 10% military discount, but it's easy enough to beat that rate with other promotions.

I'd also call their group sales office and see if they can work you a deal.
