Haven't ya always wondered what happens to all those mis-matched glasses that end up away from their original homes when we mix up "roadies" in the room or take "walkers" from one casino to the next?

I imagine some cocktail waitress takes these things back to her own dishwashing staff who at the end of every night ends of with a wide variety of glasses not belonging to their property.

Do they throw them out? Return them to their original location? Use them at their new home?

Seems like lately it's been more plastic cups for mixed drinks than anything else.

We asked at Sullys bar and they said most bars on strip use same glassware so they just keep them and use them.

Sort of off topic, but related, one of the small pleasures I have is cocktails on the casino floor at Wynncore. They don't use the el cheapo glasses that many casinos use (the kind that is about as thick as hardened saran wrap). You get a nice, heavy rocks glass. Much more enjoyable to sip out of.

I could swear I remember this was discussed in one of those Travel Channel type Vegas shows. If not than maybe I dreamt it but that would be a pretty retarded thing to dream about. :confused2:

I sort of assumed that they all basically used the same type so they would be interchangable.

The ones you expect -- lower roller joints as well as some of the more midrange places popular with families and younger party crowd.

I wonder how many of them go home with the customer? I know my cupboard is full of nothing but pint glasses from various bars. I have no idea how I got them.
