hi i can book comped room at caesars in the forum tower but not for any other tower. i am diamond but i dont play too high, most of my diamond tier was from my mom who played on my card. is it easy to get an upgrade to augustus or octaviaus tower at the check in desk if you book a forum room? is it too risky to try if i dont want to stay in a forum tower room?

    thank you for helping

It is in fact fairly easy. There are 1200 rooms in Palace tower, 600 in Augustus, and 600 in Octavius (roughly). The entire hotel has about 4000. CET actually does do a pretty good job proactively upgrading diamond members so it is very likely you will wind up in one of the three towers which would be considered an upgrade from Forum.

As a diamond (with decent adt) I have never stayed in a tower other than Augustus, Octavius, or Nobu. I saw a Roman tower room about 10 years ago and it was not impressive even back then.

I am comped for 5 nights beginning Aug.4th. I am booked at the Forum Tower, however, i will try to get the Palace Tower facing the pool with the sandwich. I am Gold. The Forum Tower rooms are fine to me but since it's pool season i want to be close to the water. If you are Diamond i'm sure you could upgrade at least to the Augustus Tower. I always stay Sun-Fri, so i might get lucky, especially being August.
You might be confused with the Roman vs Forum..............the Roman Tower is in the basement sort of speak, the Forum rooms are recently done over and far better than Roman. The Forum don't have any views which would be fine in November, but in Aug., i want to be close to the pool since i'll be spending most of my daytime there.
I have never stayed at Caesars, looking forward to it. But i do know that the Roman Tower rooms are the ones to avoid........Forum on up is fine.

If you're Diamond, you will easily get an upgrade to at least the Palace Tower. Augustus or Octavius should also be easily acquired (depending how busy the hotel is). I've stayed in all three and my favourite is Palace, due to size of room, proximity to the casino and the pool is right where the elevators are.

It depends on how busy they are. If they are near max capacity, they are less likely to upgrade. For every 5 or 6 anecdotes you see from a Diamond getting upgraded, there is one about a person who couldn't get one or worse who got downgraded from what they booked online.

I've been going to Vegas since about 1977. This is the first time i will go in August (usually it's July, then Spring and Fall), also the first time at Caesars. I'm booked at Forum comped with Gold. I want to be near the pool, therefore i want to try the sandwich when checking in. I plan to spend my daylight hours at the pool.
I am staying Sun-Fri the first week in August...........is the Forum Tower (rooms are fine), close enough to the pool or are they in another zip code? Has anyone walked from the Forum rooms to the pool and back?

What about from the Roman Tower to Augustus or someplace besides the Roman

I am a lowly Gold and while we have been to Vegas many times we have never stayed at Caesars. I booked a late July paid Monday-Friday room in the Roman Tower (the cheapest one when I booked, just prior to the mandatory resort fee requirement). What's the best strategy to get a view room in the Augustus Tower, my first choice (or Octavian Tower or basically anyplace other than the Roman)? The $20 trick? I now know about the run-down unrenovated Roman Tower and it seems that most reviews say to avoid it. So does anyone stay in the Roman Tower by choice? Or is just used when the hotel is full? Does Caesars offer paid upgrades if no complimentary one is offered?

I can verify the downgrade- it happened to me. I am Diamond and usually book Augustus Tower. One 2012 trip I was booked in Augustus by my host and when I arrived they had me in a Palace or Forum room (nothing was available in Augustus). My guess is they gave my room away to someone who had $20 :grrr:

Go to the Diamond Check In and ask. I am Diamond and I have never stayed in a room at Caesars ever in the last 3-4 years that was not Augustus or Octavius. Only once did it look like they were not going to auto-upgrade and that was because I had somehow reserved a handicapped room in the Palace Tower???? Perhaps if I am drunk enough that could apply.

I would suggest it is an automatic upgrade as I have had it more than 10 times in the last three years. But if you have even the slightest doubt, have a $20 in your hand and ask for the upgrade outright. Don't do the ridiculous "$20 sandwich thing". Be obvious and you will almost certainly get the upgrade.

And additionally, I still take the Augustus upgrade over Octavius due to the view and the lesser walk from the strip. The difference between the Octavius and Augustus is negligible.

And I can do you even one better! I am checking in tomorrow around 2 pm. So I can let you know in a day if the upgrade works again! Bing! Bing!

How far is the Forum Tower (where i'm booked in a couple of weeks), to the pool? Having said that, i plan on using the $20 to upgrade to Palace (Sun-Fri). I actually have changed my mind from before, i want to be close to the pool (Palace), but don't want a pool view, i would rather a view looking North. Is the Pool view (looking South) considered Premium? Or is the Strip view considered Premium in the Palace Tower?
I guess it really doesn't matter......if i knew the location of the Forum rooms as opposed to the Palace rooms in regards to the pool it would really be a big help.

Palace Tower has easiest access to the pool as the elevators are right where the pool entrance is. This is my favourite tower because of the close proximity to the pool. And the rooms are larger than the other towers. A premium room (also called petite suite) in Palace Tower does not refer to the view but rather the layout of the room, it has two separate bathrooms which are connected by a dual shower. This is my favourite room just for this fact alone (I hate having to share counter space with anyone). :D

The Forum tower is not too far from the pool, the elevators are close to the Forum casino and you just need to walk down Appian Way to access the corridor which leads to the pool. The rooms are rather small though, if you can get into Palace tower, I think you would enjoy it more.

this thread is a bit messy now, with various posters adding their questions to the OP's original. so thought it might be useful to just run through the various Caesars towers as a whole.

the pool view rooms in the Palace Tower and Octavius Tower basically ring the 'Garden of the Gods' on opposite sides. access from either tower to the pool area is thus very direct. Palace is closer to the casino. Octavius is newer.

if you're up high in an Octavius pool view room, you also will have nice Strip views looking north. in my experience, Octavius and Augustus get in the way of the south-facing Strip views from Palace Tower. the view of the pool itself is lovely, though.

the Augustus Tower pool-view rooms are slightly angled away from the pool itself and you have a bit of a walk from the pool to your elevator. but Augustus is also closer to the Strip and thus offers views more directly up LV Blvd. we personally favor the Augustus pool view rooms above all others in our comp range -- including Augustus fountain view rooms -- because you look across the elaborate gardens that front Caesars along the Strip. (looking south from Augustus or Octavius, I notice too much of the traffic on Flamingo Road.)

it's been a few years since I was in a Forum Tower room, but my recollection is that the Strip views were not the greatest because you are set back quite a ways and end up looking across too much rooftop (or staring at one of the other towers). Avoid Roman tower unless price is your only concern.

as far as low rollers getting an inexpensive (i.e. $20 trick) upgrade from Forum to either Octavius or Augustus, it seems highly unlikely to me unless one happens to be there during a very slow period. as others have posted, Diamond and Seven Stars players are almost always placed in these newer towers nowadays. an upgrade at check-in from Forum to Palace seems more plausible during the winter -- but it seems doubtful from April to October, when the pool is the place to be and people are willing to pay full price for Palace rooms.

Thank you. Yes, i do realize Palace tower is closest to the pool, and having the elevators right near the pool is a plus. This is why i chose the Ipinema tower at Rio in May........i could be in/out the room to the pool in a matter of minutes. What i might do is check my bag in to the bellman about 2 pm when i arrive, then walk from the Forum elevator area to the pool area to see how close it is. The Palace Tower rooms are worth the tip, but in case it's not there, i want to know how far of a walk to the pools from Forum Tower beforehand.
