He is a Nevada resident, and he does have to make his bets within Nevada state lines.
Not sure if the Nevada residency is a requirement, but I doubt it.
He has been doing this for at least three years.
Here is an example of a large bet.[IMG]

its my understanding that the sportsbooks make their money almost exclusively from the vigor or juice. hope i have the term right. outside of that they are simply trying to get even bets on both sides of a game. so im not really understanding why they would turn someones bets away. only if they didnt have enough bets on the opposite side?

    a) not in real life. lines are changing all the time, they have bets laid out at all different sizes and lines and nothing is that simple.

    b) yes, they turn large bets away to limit their exposure. small market NBA games, for example, get hardly any action, so they're not interesting in having a huge wager come in on one side that may hurt them.

The one thing they will be concerned about is whether you are trying to launder money.
Other than that, I think you will find that they will be more than happy to do business with you!

whatever you do AVOID going into a sports book with Steve Stevens

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/100950308

he is so well known for WINNING! that pretty much every casino has banned him!

if you want his advice that is one thing, but I would wear a disguise when you go to his palatial strip center global international world headquarters because the casinos have people that publish "the book" (that you get published in when you get banned from a casino) that watch the Steve Stevens headquarters 24X7 to try and see who is coming and going from there to get his advice and take a cab not your own car because they track license plates and wear the disguise even in the cab since they often pay cab drivers to let them know who goes to the Stevens Institute Of Sports Betting Winning

i am a CA resident. I set up an account with Cantor at Hard Rock and downloaded their app. I could make bets from the app only when I am in Nevada. I haven't used the account in some time, but I assume the rules are the same. I don't remember the limits. From what I recall betting $500 or so on an NFL game is probably a normal occurrence at the big strip casinos. The other thing to consider is you can get to several different casinos in like an hour to place bets. Just make sure you get to them early. Lines get really long at about 9am. Unless the weather is bad the lines rarely move after the inactives are announced 90 minutes before kickoff.

    Someone
that show looks great, im gonna watch all the episodes this week! Thank you!

im definitly gonna look into the cantor app. between the apps and the walk in sports books it seems like i should have enough people to take my action.

Im thinking it might be a good idea to go there in march for a short trip to really get a better idea what its really gonna be like

Yes, Floyd gets special treatment because he is a donkey that loses his ass in sports betting. They will take as much of his action as possible b/c they clean house on him.

Virgin Punter: why all of the sudden have you decided to become a professional sports gambler? What triggered this life choice?

This thread is completely awesome by the way.

Link to who owns what sports books as of 12/26/14.

    http://wizardofodds.com/games/sports-betting/appendix/3/

This link has their top 10 in Vegas with descriptions and limits:

    http://www.covers.com/WhereToPlay/Vegas

    One example:

Betting/Lines: Mirage has some of the highest limits in town: $30,000 max on NFL sides, $10,000 max on moneylines, $5,000 max on totals. Casino players get even higher limits. For college football, the max bet on a side ranges from $5,000 on low-profile games to $15,000 on marquee matchups. On college hoops sides, the book takes bets ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. For college totals, the book takes $2,000 bets on football, $1,000 on hoops.

    Hope this helps.

Just coming from someone who is a regular sports bettor with pretty good knowledge and success....

Get a normal job and just dabble in the book as a second income. Way to volatile to make it your everyday source of income. Even the best in the business can tell you at least one story where they've been down on luck for a stretch and soon have little to no money, lose houses or cars, really not worth it.

I bet regularly and since I have started tracking my play about 2.5 years ago, I am batting a 55% clip on wins. Use a unit system of $110 per unit, and have turned a profit of about $5400 over the 2.5 years but have wagered over $15,000 (essentially my coin-in). The return is just not there unless you have hundreds of thousands in bankroll.

You say you have $80-100k which is a good starting point but would be better to engage in as a side operation with a regular full-time job to support your life. Remember if you bet $1100 on 2 game and go 1-1, you still lose $100. So you need to be above 50% or the house is gonna slowly kill you with the juice. The best handicappers in the world only hit around 58-60% in the longer-run but make killings when they catch fire and hit 70% for a week or two.

But if this is the route you chose to go, best of luck but it can be a scary road. I prefer to continue to wager on games for the rush and excitement, it just doesn't hurt that I am able to return a little profit here and there.
