I love the penny slots, he never gambles and instead loves to watch sports at the bars and talk sports. When I want to gamble, he gets his sports fix, or when there's a game on he wants to see, I go gamble. It works great.

We spend a big brunt of our time together just exploring Vegas and enjoying our time together, but we also love that we have our "me" time too.

For us, we love our blend of together time for activities we both love, and "me" time for the things only one of us likes.

I like gambling with her, more than she does with me. I tend to tell her what she is doing wrong, and that doesn't sit well with her.

We'll play VP together, or maybe some slot thing she likes, but for the most part it's a case of "I'll meet you at X-place at X-time, if I'm not there, I'll be at X2". And that's it. When it comes to BJ, she seems to be more sensitive to losing streaks (which is odd given her inclination to slots), but I can play for hours. She, on the other hand, can play slots for hours on a $20, but if I don't see some return on my $100...I'm movin' on. I guess the bottom line is that, in Vegas, you don't have to spend every single solitary waking hour with one another. Then again, we're thirty years into this Enterprise, so maybe we've got that 'comfortable pair of jeans' philosophy that comes with time. Could be.

" I tend to tell her what she is doing wrong, and that doesn't sit well with her."...well, now that's certainly odd. :wink2:

It has got to be a bit of give and take. Luckily my wife and I like putting in $20 into a slot maxhine, ordering a beer, cashing out once we get it, and walking onto the next casino.

When my wife wants to be together, she is also fine with betting $5 every so often in blackjack while I bet my $10-15.

In order to have alot of fun together, you have to do a bit of what she wants and she needs to do a bit of what you want.

One funny story I have about this is, on our last trip we are staying at the Linq and I wanted to play some craps in O'Sheas. So she figures she could get a few drinks based upon my play, so she just stays next to me. After about an hour and down $200, she asks if we could leave and I asked her if I could throw down my last $100. She relulunctantly agrees and the next three shooters go on incredible heaters. Each shooter rolls at least thirty times, I have built up $10 point bets into $40 or $50 on 5, 6, 8 and 9, plus $10 passline bets with full odds (3,4,5x). Near the end of the third shooter i noticed that the chips in my rack is much smaller than what it should be. I asked my wife where all my chips went and she opened her purse and it was full of greens. Turned out that every time i racked a green, she would grab it from my rack whenever I would collect or put $ on a bet. We had way more to drink than a human should be allowed and she "pursed" almost $1000.

In Vegas you never know where your "story" will come from and as everyone knows on this board, you never come back from Vegas without at least one story.

My husband and I do most of our gambling together. We mostly like the same things - VP, Slots, 3 Card and BJ. Occasionally he'll wander off to a different area of the casino for a while, but wouldn't leave a property without me nor would I without him. He knows I don't care much for shopping or the spa. We do a pretty decent job of keeping each other from going on tilt. There is nobody I'd rather be in Vegas with.

My wife and I – whether in Vegas or any casino while traveling – will start with “I’ll meet you here at this time”. Invariably, one or the other of us gets a hot streak and will take our slots cash-out ticket to wave in the other’s face. Then at some point in the gambling session, we end up sitting next to her. I am not a fan of slots and have to play (even the pennies) for at least a dollar while she plays min credits, but we’ll play for a while and when we’re ready to leave, we do.

The only table games she likes are craps and Pai Gow Poker, so she’s been known to find me at the craps table (usually after she’s lost hers) and if she sees me with a rack of chips, she will grab some money and play with a nickel on the Field every roll, and min pass line with single odds.

I don’t play poker when we’re together as she hates watching me play it (and in fairness, watching all poker that is not on TV can be tedious). But I don’t mind playing my wife’s games with her.

I just posted about this on another thread, but nope. I do not like going to Vegas with my husband. Like Blonde's he's likely to say "I've lost $20, time to go" or get bored with the casino. He tended to go to bed early and that when I used to get my gamble on. But then he wanted to get up and go eat at 6-7 am and I was usually just coming back to the room.

He's talked about going back with me since his last trip was in 2004. I told him that IF (giant capital IF) he goes back with me, he needs to not rely on me to entertain him every minute. If he wanted to go do a tour, see a show or something else, that's great, but I can't be responsible for filling every minute of his day.

My wife is the degen out of the two of us - she has no feat pushing cash into those slot machines! I play more games but total money at risk she is def on top.

That said she earns me rooms/f&b so I can't complain!

I have gone solo before - fun, just not the same.

Wife and I alternate between playing on the same BJ table and splitting up. She pretty much just plays BJ, sometimes a bit of Pai Gow, but not often. I'm a BJ, Craps and 3 Card Poker player, occasionally dipping my toes into the Let It Ride waters. We usually play in the same casino, but from time to time we'll split up between the Cal and MSS (we're 90% DT gamblers). Wife will play for hours as I will, but she'll move/sit out for a bit if she looses 3-4 hands in a row. I'm too stubborn/degenerate and just ride it out.

We are a team in Vegas. On the Craps tables, video poker and slots. I have gone solo but like Brad8173, it's just not as much fun.

My wife and I stay together most of the time and play next to each other. If we're not together, she's not far away.

When my wife and I went to Vegas for the first time, it was great. She went in September and I went in April. Rimshot!

You've been a great audience, don't forget to tip your server.

But seriously, when we visit a casino, we split up and she looks for her penny machines, I look for VP or blackjack. We keep our phones on and check in once in awhile or meet up. I make sure I have the ATM card though.

As others have said, with us it's a bit of give and take... we try to find something that each of us likes and do that together, then have our apart times to do the things the other doesn't care for. When we visit our "home" casino, there's a horse track - she loves the horses, I love the tables. So she plays slots or video poker for a while, I play craps or black jack. When it's time for the horses to run, I'll watch and bet 4 or 5 races, then head back to the tables while she continues with the last 4 or 5. For Vegas time, I try to find a show or some entertainment that I know she will enjoy - our next trip I enticed her with the Bon Jovi concert in February - so I'll tolerate the concert with her, and we'll both have 4 nights in Vegas. I tried to get her to play craps with me once, which was working out just fine until her second roll, she was doing fine and then she rolled about 3 off the table in a row, she got embarrassed and a bit frustrated, and that was the end of that. Now she sticks to her slots/VP and I to my tables.

During the day we stroll about gambling together, sit at a given slot for $20 each, me on the right and Mrs WHU on the left. We do this for most of the day, bit of shopping, few machines, then move to a new casino, similar, eat, move on, rinse, repeat. By about mid-night to 1am, Mrs WHU tends to get sleepy, so that's when I have some time to play some tables, roulette or BJ, before retiring. I am also an early riser, so have a couple of hours most mornings on my own, coffee and JD with some more tables and slots before repeating the whole thing! Love it, we have plenty of time to relax and catch up together.

Luckily, we both like to play Video Poker, and like spending our time together. Hopefully one of us has a good enough winning session so we can continue playing. Once in a while we both have a good session, but those are rare.

Wellll, I would rather play slots alone cause I'm selfish and Vegas is about ME - but we share a bankroll and my husband, the saint, makes sure to have hot tea prepared just right for me every morning and fetches me anything I need while hanging out in the casino; he has no agenda in Vegas other than the occasional sports bet and watching his sports in the room or bar, soooooo I pretty much have free reign when in Vegas.

Seriously, after many many years of marriage, we have the fair and share part down pat plus he has finally come over to the dark side to play slots. We do like to play slots together for short periods each day (he is a hit and run artist while I like to grind it out), we take pretty long walks together each day, take in shows pretty regularly, and we enjoy telling our horror stories of the day over dinner. He likes a full breakfast, I prefer yogurt or a bagel, so we alternate breakfast each day. He is an early to bed guy, I'm playing til the sun comes up or daily bankroll runs out, and it works. The few times I've gone with a friend and he stayed home were fun, but I really prefer being there with him, plus he shares his meager winnings with me when I'm on a losing streak (yes, I grudgingly share too:evillaugh:). My play nets us pretty nice digs and freeplay and resort credit which he thinks is cool. How much better can it get? Our running joke is, if I need to win a hand pay, he hovers around me for a few minutes, announces he is going to wander around, and before he gets to the next aisle, like magic I hit one! It has happened more often than we can count :nworthy: . He says, just once he would like to actually see me hit the win, ha ha.

I'm more of a Buffalo player whilst the mrs enjoyed Dragon Spin on our last trip. Would spend a good hour apart at times but I always went and sat with her or vice versa and had some good fun watching each others bonuses from time to time. Never play on the tables together, we just take turns in playing with the other in close attendance.

Spend most of our time in Vegas together as it is our favourite place but we spend a lot of time apart at home due to our careers.

Don't think I would like to be with anyone but my wife in Vegas.

I enjoy playing with Mrs flyguy and we do VP and some slots together. She doesn't like to lose much so her pain threshold is low. We try to add other activities and sightseeing to our joint trips and my solo ones are all casino oriented.

Twenty five years ago I didn't know video poker, but I knew how to get a free drink. We'd sit at the VP bar, each put up ten bucks and ask for a roll of quarters and a drink. Fifty cents each for the bartender, then we'd play our stake through the machine. Afterwards we'd compare what we had left and make it even again and repeat. We'd play one coin two coin then buy in again for the next drink. Now that we 'know what we're doing' we'll sit and grind full pay for a few hours each day. The outflow can occasionally get a little high, but we are both enjoying ourselves and the drink service is phenomenal!
