    My Trip Report

Two days to go, so kicking off this pre-trip report summary. This is going to be a new one for me me, since I am ultra low rolling this trip. If you ask what ultra low rolling means.
Its a 1K budget for 4 nights with half of that budget made up of Free Play courtsey of TI, Trop, MGM, The D and CET.

Yup $500 of my gaming bankroll is free play. Due to the recent filing of my tax return and my AGI due to gambling winnings, my usually 3K bankroll has been cut way short. Uncle Sam got my money before CET could.

Plan is 4 nights comp'd at the PHo with $300 in FP, and my bonus $100 celebratory dinner for making diamond status in Feb. Lucky for me my TR account is flush with around $250 comp dollars, and somehow I have $40 in MGM comps. Combine that with Diamond lounge chicken wings and free booze the meal plan is locked in.

Hopefully I will outlast my gaming bankroll or I maybe trolling the Caesars fountain for change by Tuesday night craps session.

Transportation will be limited to Airport shuttle and the deuce, unless I find a working girl who takes 2 for 1 LVA coupons. Im even carrying on this trip, and packing the extra drink coupons SWA was nice enough to send.

Entertainment will be limited to whatever free tickets I can score from CET, and lounge entertainment.

This trip I will be taking a different approach planning to capture more video, and do a couple of videoblog posts.

    Viva Low Rollin!

Damn, up this morning calculating max EV return for my free play. Trying to decide if I should risk going big on freeplay . High denomination slots or take the safe table play certificates and grind out some even money bad odds table play.

Funny the chick on the front of the mailer looks like she is reaching out to grab you by the balls. Maybe its a secret double message. I also love the guy on the end crossing his fingers, probally wondering if he will score with any of the women at the table. I love CET!

Since I am low rolling this trip, some time will have to be spent in sports book for gambling if I am going to survive till my wens morning departure. The plan right now is to start with free play Sun and Monday with hopes of even money return. That would stake me for .25 or .50 VP play on Tuesday. If I go on tilt early or fail to generate a return than some low stakes poker tourney may also be in cards.

Plan to dust off the handicapping skills and lay my KY derby wagers as well.

    Current tentative gambling budget layout.

CET $300 FP - Probally going to target this at $1 or better slot play since I believe VP is out, alternatively could bet Red / Black even money or bad blackjack at $25 level (Still evaluating)
MGM $50 FP - If I can use Free points or play on VP, this will probally get commited to some JoB at one of the bartops.
TI $75 - Free play. Again going to target VP at .25 level or $1 slots
The D - $25 and $25 match play. Simple play this out on penny, if I generate a profit, roll this out to a wager with match play coupon.
The Cosmo - $50 in Identity play. Not sure where to wager this yet, but will probally blow it thru some penny or nickle slot.

The other $500 will be split for more conservative wagering as follows.
$200 - Craps pass line and basic buy bets.
    $150 - Blackjack
    $100 - Roulette
    $50 - MGM Lions Share.

Why bother going to Vegas? At that level you should go to some riverboat or tribal property.

You can still have a lot of fun. Don't make the mistake that your next trip has to be bigger, it can just be different.

I've done similar trips before, but simiply because I wanted to spend the weekend in the books watching football. As to why even bother going to Vegas, well the main reason is probably because he has $500 in FP in Vegas and presumably none at a local casino. Also there's more to Vegas than gambling. If that's all you're there to do, then I would ask why even bother going to Vegas at all whether your bankroll is $500 or 500 Grand?

I hear you, since this is around a third of budget what I normal go on. I can play the local joints, however I am maximizing my comp return this year. CET offers are drying up faster than celebrity rehabers are dropping off the face of the earth.:grrr:

With an approximate comp return of 1K this trip, I lose my max comp window by just taking a later trip where I only have the downgraded room offers from CET where I have to front more of my own money. Since I am not using the assistance of my casino marketing person, no obligation to level of play.

Besides this is a flashback to the early 90's when I went to Vegas in my 20's drank alot of booze and gambled on $300 dollars. Hoping this experience will be different. There is always the chance I could hit the ATM in a pinch, but I am limiting funds availability to maximize "FUN" availability. Worst case I hang out at the pool and become the creepy old in the corner chaise lounge.:evillaugh

Have fun! It's this kind of thread that reminds me that i don't know shit about how comps work. My flight/room/rental car is just over $300, and i'll spend another $3-400 on food and [mostly] drink, and another $3-400 on golf...and maybe $100 on gambling...

    to each their own! :D

I think you're crazy dude, even when I was a poor college student going I was never that under rolled. That being said our predicaments are pretty similar. I would rather go on a trip and have to spend most of it scootering around or hobbling with a cane then not go at all...so I get where you're coming from.

Mack, the wife already is betting that I go on tilt and hit the ATM, but heres the rub.
Since we just wrote Uncle Sam a check for $2100 thanks to the 10K lift I made over last columbus day weekend, I had to put the kabosh on wifes bedroom remodel shopping.

She's out at the furniture store looking at $3K in upgrades, when I was hoping for a new coat of paint and some new sheets and carpet. If I go on tilt she wins.

That means working double shifts in the Funkhouser ice cream truck this summer. It's amazing how the thought of collecting 3 bucks in pennys from a booger ladden kid, while your balls roast in a 95 degree metal can with wheels can motivate you.

Of course there still the chance I hit a royal early, and can roll on CET money the whole trip. I started out October on PHo money at Extra bar with a royal.

Should be good times. I am really focused on having a good time this trip, since my Dec trip was so horrible (at least from a gambling perspective). I went on tilt early and started chasing the first night. That put me in a [email protected] perspective the reist of the trip.

Thankfully my NOLA and AC trips in early part of 2013 turned my luck and attitude.

Its a balmy 36 F this morning in Covington. With a high temp forecasted not much higher.
I will be glad to get out of town. The wife will be punishing me today, for leaving her for 4 nights. The following agenda has been planned as pre-trip abuse. A trip to IKEA, Hobby Lobby, Macys, and finally Bed Bath and Beyond. I will inevitably be engaged in a conversation over which shade of white toliet brush holder we should purchase for the guest bath or what color sheets we should buy to match the new lavender paint in the master bedroom. I imagine if we get home a couple of hours ahead of my flight I can expect a Lifetime Man Haters network movie as well on the couch.

However all will be forgotten once I set foot upon the winged eagle of AA toward the beacon of light which is las vegas. My first leg is thru ORD, connecting with AA, so I am hoping those guys have their [email protected] together by now.

Back to my pre-trip rambling. Ultra low rolling planning continues, as I realized more pre-trip luck was found in my desk drawer.

During my Feb trip to AC I managed to hit my award points for Laundrys Select Club. Checking my balance I see another $25 reward loaded to my card that is good at multiple restos in Vegas including Bubba Gump on Harmon and Rainforest at MGM. Easily a lunch or breakfast meal which gets me out of CET owned properties. Between my food comps, TR credits, and awards I should be able to eat better than when on my business per diem.

More goodness was found when I realized two coupons for April from my local CET casino good for today. A choose your reward coupon for either 40.00 in bonus reward credits or $25 in freeplay, along with my usual mailing of weekly freeplay of $30 dollars this could be some bonus bankroll money. I will have to figure out how to divert the wife over the casino for 15 mins today without looking like a complete degenerate.

Take her to HomeGoods instead of BBB, and go through Mt. Lookout so you will pass through downtown and just HAVE to stop at the casino! :evillaugh

Quite the parallel over here, I just spent 2 hours at Ikea yesterday looking at kitchen remodels. I got the additional needle of it being the final day of the 20% off sale.

I responded with "Sweet, then the ice cube tray you get will only be 80 cents".

My wife said I won't want any ice cubes because my teeth will be so cold sensitive after the dentist re-implants them.

In the end she got a 5-figure check and I got a thin bankroll.

Good luck in Vegas and have fun. We are not here to judge your bankroll. If your lucky your lucky that is what is comes down to no matter what your bankroll. I really like it that you have a plan. Take advantage of whatever you can from Vegas because as everyone is saying those big comps etc are a thing of the past they are slowing tightening things up and the gambling in Vegas will be the same so a plan is a good way to have a fun trip and not feel bad about your spending.

I wish you the best. We leave Monday night for Vegas and will be at Mirage looking forward to it. Gonna be a short trip we arrive around 9pm vegas time, by the time we check in get our Mlife card loaded and find something to eat it will be late. But we will still roam the strip and have some drinks and get our groove on. We return midday Thursday.

    Good Luck !
