    Trips to Las Vegas:
Just wanted to get some peoples opinions. Before my last trip I knew my gold card would expired if I didn't play but my bankroll was very limited. I call and verified that my card would expired if did not earn 3432 tier points. I verified this via phone before I arrived and have an email copy showing the points needed. I also verified this in person during superbowl weekend. I purchased a gift card as well as played to make this requirement and was told I made it and I would keep my gold card. I thought dropping 650 dollars on spending and some slot play was well worth the 2 companion nights I get for a friend and I love eating and staying there. I confimed after I made my purchases I would retain gold on my anniversary which is Feb 20th. I also had wanted to keep my 3x slot point earning.

Fast Forward to March 5th and there is a huge change for the worse for slot players at cosmo. I wanted to verify my status and check and see why I have not received any offers recently . They told me I was sterling and I said had to be wrong and they said no you didn't earn enough. I requested a managed and they explained I was 1800 short. I am still in the process of having them research it but it is very frustrating.

Would others be angry if this happened to them? I am wondering if they are pissed as I only used my free play last trip there and barely played. I had never done this before but it seems since just using my free play on Jan 31st that I have not got an offer from them since December 9th. I have an offer booked for March 26th for 4 days and 355 free play and 100 food. I wonder if my basic no play and picking up the free play has put me on the blacklist. The offer I am using on March 26th expires April 8th and that is my last offer in their system

    * Again that Slot change is horrible

Someone Please correct me if I am wrong regarding slot play?

Previously it was $1.50 to earn 1 point on slots and now it is $2.50 to earn one point. This s a 66 percent increase in coin in to earn the same amount of points and when it comes to comps it is even greater with the multiplier. IF you are gold you previously had a 3x multiplier.

90 coin in old=60 points with 3 x multiplier is $1.80 in comps or 180 points
90 coin in with new= 36 points with 2x multiplier equals $0.72 in comps or 72 points

The results is a reduction in free play/comps from your point earnings is roughly 71 percent I believe. I cannot believe this change as it kills the low level slot player. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

    Logic working with
Gold 3x multiplier previously now 2.
Coin in for 1 point was 1.50 and now 2.50

I guess table players do not gain points anymore.

It seems the new owners are cutting back. Most Comps will be at the discretion of the host

It will be interesting to see if the new actions lead to a successful casino. I'm curious if they will be able to lure big players as it seemed that was one of their goals from previous threads

Are the bigger point multipliers and the 2 free nights the only tangible benefit of Cosmo gold?

I haven't totally crunched the numbers yet, but I think their combo of cash points earned from gambling plus hotel spend was a little high, and they chose to cut the gambling side. If you play enough to get your rooms comped, and they don't change the theo necessary to comp a room (why would they), then you'll really get screwed the new way.

But by comparison to MGM and CET, using Cosmo's old method, for a baseline starting from zero:

CET: $5.00 coin in = $0.01 in rewards credits, $1 in hotel spend = $0.01 in rewards credits
MGM $3.00 coin in = $0.01 in rewards credits and $0.01 in freeplay, nothing for hotel spend
Cosmo: $1.50 coin in = $0.01 in rewards credits, $1 in hotel spend = $0.05 in rewards credits

So let's say you play $3,900 coin in a day on slots. That should be enough to get a comped room midweek at any property.
So your room is comped, and let's also say you manage to have no hotel spend.

    CET: $7.80 rewards credits
MGM: $26 total, $13 Express Comps and $13 Freeplay
Cosmo (old way): $26 rewards credits
Cosmo (new way): $15.60 rewards credits

A different example, let's say you're a partyer, not a gambler, you go for a couple of nights and have $2,000 in hotel spend.
    CET: $20 rewards credits
    MGM: nada
    Cosmo: $100 rewards credits

A 5% rebate for hotel spend is extraoardinary.

It sure seems to me like they want to push out the lower level players and focus on higher level players and people who will pay for their rooms, and party (I'm assuming you can charge stuff like bottle service to your room), that's sure where the incentives are.

So when they said they wanted to increase gaming revenue, they apparently didn't mean by incentivizing low-mid players. They did the opposite.

You hit the nail on the head.

I fall under the second scenario, barely gamble but party hard enough to constitute getting platinum (all on hotel spend, restaurants and bottles - yes you can charge that to your room, or bring the receipt to the identity desk afterwards)

Because of my spending habits, I prefer and love staying at the cosmo because the return is great. Not only the 5% but the free nights, additional reward credits etc.

Any other casino I would get squat.
