    just got back last night
all the rumors you have heard about the quad are so true , arrived sat and valet was full , really?
so went to self park ...full come on ..
was told there was more parking ... in an open area at least 1/2 mile away no shit !!!
finally walked to checkout ( was slightly uphill incline all the way )
check in go to room.......what a shithole !!!
now i am a low roller person i do not expect much but when you walk in and the sliding door to balconey is open and you can hardly close it , track is bad
carpet looked like it had stains (huge) blood is my guess
room very very poorly maintained .....words do no justice run down falling apart
    smelled bad
    t.v. was a small old 19 inch
but the real kicker was the 1/2 eaten milky way candy bar in the drawer in the night stand
i called the rio as soon as i saw all this and got comped nights there for the rest of my stay
i will never ever stay at quad again at least total rewards made it right by getting me to the rio
Rio ... wonderful place got a nice suite clean with safe and fridge
i write this to warn anyone considering staying at the quad , not to start a debate
you have been warned .....do not go there

Well, i stayed at the Quad in Nov. for the first time (it's a long story), but it wasn't as bad as i had imagined, but now that i have regained my TR comps (i have about 7 CET hotels comped and/or partially comped), i don't have any desire to stay at the Quad now since my favorite, Bally's, is comped from now on.
So i have 3 bookings starting next month at the Rio, then Caesars Palace in the summer, then Bally's in the fall.
Since i'm staying at Rio next month for the first time, i'm happy to hear your experience at Rio was a pleasurable one. My only concern was the Shuttle, since i spend most of my time on the Strip. My room is comped and i was planning on asking for the Ipanema Tower as that is what most people ask for.
I hope you still had a great time despite the negatives, and thanks for mentioning Rio, i hear good and bad things about Rio, hopefully the good will outweigh the not so good.

Will be staying at Quad for one night next Thursday, while actually spending the vaca at El Cortez Cabanas. Got the Quad room for $13 including tax (no resort fee), and will be eager to see how the deluxe room compares to the excrement-stained classic room they put me in for three nights in January. Will take plenty of pics to share here.

And I still love the Rio. 4 nights there in Feb for my 50th bday were very pleasing.

I hate when people talk shit about the Quad/IP. Ill just quote the great move airplane. " You bought your ticket, you knew what your were getting into, i say let them crash." That place cost nothing to stay at, everyone will tell you not to expect the ARIA or Bellagio. its a hotel to sleep in thats it everyone should stop putting it down.

i stayed in the ipanema tower and it is very nice
as far as the shuttle goes it is over past the rio buffet and runs till 1 am , somewhat early for las vegas but it drops you off right at ballys
runs every 20 mins or so
one night i just could not make the walk back to the shuttle pick up at Ballys
(walking from Monte Carlo) and took a cab cost me 10.50 plus tip
dont know if it was a deal or not , but my feet sure thanked me
one negitive thing at rio was they have no 5$ blackjack , no real biggie.. lady at front desk said gold coast had it and to just walk there never made it there though

I can say this about the Quad/IP in all the years staying there I had no problems. Knew it was cheap didn't expect much but a clean room, good bed and clean restroom. And got it. Served my purpose as a place to sleep and clean up. No troubles at all.

Thanks. You mentioned 1 am, isn't that just for the weekend? I will be there from Sun-Fri and it supposed to be 12 am. Either way, i plan on returning to the Rio by 11 pm just to be safe in case i miss one or two shuttles on the way back.

Yep, and the infamous slow elevators, at least in my case, were much ado about nothing.

Thank you, and i've always wanted to go to Rio...... OK, it's not That Rio, but i think the one on Flamingo Blvd will suffice.

I've never had a bad experience at The IPQuad, but I'm sure others have. My room is always clean, which is all I expect. I love the casino, but haven't been since that was remodeled. I hope they didn't screw up my mojo there, because I've ALWAYS won money.

Never had any problems with the elevators. (use the back ones, they are MUCH FASTER) The place is a maze, but after the first couple of days, I was able to find my way around.

I'll update with my thoughts an pics after my trip! :woohoo:

Well, I didn't. It was filthy, much like the one in these photos. If someone doesn't mind a disgusting room, that's their preference. But whatever the room rate, I have the right to expect at least the bare minimum of housekeeping standards in a nationally-recognized chain hotel. How can expecting a clean room annoy anyone?

Nothing wrong with putting down a hotel if you've actually stayed there and it failed to meet basic requirements. NO ONE is expecting Bellagio or Aria here.

If you still like it anyway, good for you. The complaints are keeping the rooms cheaper for those willing to stay there, so you should love them.

Lucky, just wondering, but why did you decide to stay at the quad when you could have gotten comped rooms elsewhere? Did you get a comp room at the quad?

With all the negative comments on the Quad on this site (from many of our members) and other sites like tripadvisor I wondered why you would think of staying at the Quad when you could have gotten comps elsewhere, if you got the Rio comped I'm surprised that you couldn't get harrahs comped. I figure anywhere else but the Quad.

I am guessing that you got the Quad standard classic rooms, I don't think they have been renovated yet. Hopefully, one day soon they will be renovated, I would hope that they renovate all the rooms before officially opening the "new" Quad hotel. I stayed there in March but since there wasn't any non smoking king bed standard rooms I paid the extra $11 a night for the deluxe room. Glad I did, it was renovated and in decent condition. Only bad thing was that there were beer bottles left on the balcony but it didn't bother me.

I'm glad that you (and Sam) commented on the bad situation of the rooms, at least we all know not to book the standard classic rooms at the Quad until someone reports back that they renovated all the rooms.

P.S. too bad you didn't read my post reviewing the quad

    http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90518

last post on march 21. It detailed the parking problem and where to park (park at harrahs). might have saved you some frustration trying to find parking at the quad.

I have stayed at the Quad regularly for several years. I once was allocated a Classic room at check in. I had booked a Deluxe, called down and asked to be moved, accommodated immediately. No problem.

Another time I was allocated what I considered to be a dirty room. It wasn't dirty, but smelt strongly of bleach. I called down, expressed my misgivings and we were moved within a couple of hours.

But that's true everywhere. Whether it be the Quad, or Aria. People will complain regardless of where they stay at. Certainly expectations are higher at places like Aria and Bellagio, as opposed to the Quad. But when i stayed at the Quad in Nov., all i expected was a clean room and i got it. When i stay at Caesars in August i expect a little more. But the Quad met my requirements.
When i stay at Rio in May, i expect topless babes frolicking at the adult pool to meet my requirements.........LOL.

I've stayed at the Rio in Oct 2012 and at the Quad in April 2013. The room at the Rio was great. The deluxe room at the Quad was good, no problems.

I would stay at the Quad again over the Rio because I did not like taking the shuttles back and forth to get to the strip.

Yeah, that was my only concern, the shuttles. I usually stay on the Strip, but when i booked Rio in Feb., it was comped along with the Quad. But after March 1st, i had Bally's comped but chose not to pay the resort fee (i'm staying at Rio with no resort fee).
What i might do is use the RTC bus in conjunction with the shuttle. Will only use the RTC during day time and the shuttle at night.
