    My Trip Report

TR one day at a time. Day One April 29

Friday spent time at the Cosmo at the Bond lounge and the bar tender comp'ed the drinks even though their VP machines had comp vouchers . We never got a voucher while playing by the way. :( Met a great crowd from Europe and had fun did some people watching since your right on the strip sidewalk. Amazing fun. We took in a concert and if you have never seen them the Band Perry is absolutely amazing! The theater is very small for an up close experience. Afterwards went to Whiskey Down at the MGM and bar tenders were great.,played VP with comp drinks and no voucher system.people watching was amazing. Was packed and felt upscale. Had a blast ! Was up $$$ from VP by end of the night. :) needed some sleep so we called it a night.

TR Day2 April 30 of six days

Okay day 2. Was a off and on raining day which is very rare for our trips. Had breakfast at the Hash House at Rio and it was lots of very good farm food. :)
Played VP at the Shutters bar and the bar tenders are outstanding!!!!! David, Santiago, Dominic , Christian. Great pours for players. We got crown reserve in tall glasses. Then just 30 minutes into play Bingo! A royal flush! Woo Hoooo. So we hung out and played for a while. I was on a 8/5 double double bonus and wife was on a 10/6 Aces. She won a few 62 and 100 tickets.

Took the free shuttle over to Ballys late in the day. Had a great coupon for Pepe Di Bucca and ate there. Was packed and we had very slow service but the food was amazing. You should try it but go early.

Roamed the strip awhile and played here and there. Toby Kieths was packed with a live band but service sucked. Left after 30 minutes. Linq was fun the new O Shea's was fun. But as the night grew late we decided we liked Rio the best and headed back to shutters bar there on the free shuttle. Looked at White Castle for those little sliders but omg the line was so long and not moving do passed on tryng them out.

The VP machines were still hitting and the bar tenders still pouring strong top shelf. Now if you are going to try to slip a 10 spot in to just milk a free drink don't go. But if your a true VP player they will take very good care of you. Tip them good!

Also checked out the Voo Doo lounge. Got in free and had the smoking witch doctor drink. It's large for two to share and smoking heavy from dry ice and be careful because bam! After a few minutes wow it hits you. The view is amazing and if your into dating stuff take the zip line between the two tall buildings over the pools. Not me but many people did.,lots of people between 25 and 55. Everyone blended in and had fun.

Got late and called it a night.,

nice report and congrats on the royal..but that 10/6 ACE$ Bonus Poker is actually almost the worst paytable of it. (mostly because 2 pair pay 1:1, where they should pay 2:1)

    May 1 Day 3

First to comment to Tim Speed. Not sure why by the 10/6 Aces machine was paying 2 to 1 for 2 pair :).

Now for Day 3 - got up late after having a slow morning so a late start to the day. Roamed the strip a little but no big high lights to share. Took a cab to Hatd Rock to see Eric Church. Spent time at the center VP bar. They had progressive VP and has bonus duces wild. We played bonus duces and double double and won many 62 and 100 tickets. Plus great comps. People were friendly at the bar and fun to chat with.

Went to the concert and yes Eric Church has a great voice and songs but you better take sunglasses to the show because he had about 500 flood lights on the stage and they keep them on most of the show and they shine in your eyes. You can't see anything when they are on. So that took a lot out of the show. But he went on and on and on with song after song without much of a break .

Left the concert to go to Whiskey Down but omg the cab line wrapped around the building. Your on an island at Hard Rock. Cab is pretty much it and we were stuck there for 2 1/2 more hours waiting for the crowd to clear out. Just played VP and chatted with bartenders and other players. Also are some pizza at a small pizza place by the center bar. It was by the slice and rather good.

The other VP bar had live music but it was overflowing and no way could get in there. Not many people playing VP but they were not giving up their seat for a VP player. Just listening to the band.

Finally got a cab and went back to shutters bar at Rio and played their til sunrise and then went back to our hotel and Crashed.

    Day 3 over

Ahh..even WORSE then, because 3-of-a-kind also paid 2:1 instead of 3:1..95% payback. ACES.png

    Day 4 May 2

Wow time was flying by. Day 4 and we are still up. Playing hard when we play.,woo hoooo !

Did the carnivale world buffet and it was awesome . So large and so many choices. The food was great.

Forgot to mention we have the total rewards Visa card and sent a VIP letter for the VIP card. Not much more than the higher level players card but on crowded cab line nights you get front of the line. Same with clubs and shows. Very handy at all Cearars properties.

Mostly did shopping walking around and some light VP today. No shows or anything earth shattering today. Wanted to get downtown and wanted to hit Frankie's Tiki bar this trip but never worked it in the schedule. Read somewhere a couple smaller old time casinos and Glitter Gultch was purchased and will be closed down and wanted to take in downtown before the changes started. Maybe next trip.

Should have played VP all day since I loose less at the VP bar then the shops. :)

Thanks for the reports. And congratulations on the royal. I was at Rio a week before you. I played a little at the Shutter Bar, but mostly played the slant tops - they are more comfortable for me. Where is the White Castle at the Rio? I don't recall seeing it.

OK - I misunderstood. When we were at Rio, the Burger King on the second floor of the Masquerade casino area was closed. No one knew what was going in its place, but we could hear the construction noises. I thought perhaps WC went in there. I guess I'll have to wait till the fall to find out.

Smash burger is going in at Rio in place of the Burger King.

Also the Kiss putt putt golf course going in where the seafood buffet use to be. It will have singer look alikes and rock music and dark lights.,seen the look alike talent contest while we were there.

Yes had a lot of fun and still did very well on the trip. Was still up after 6 days :)

You all have a blast as well

Smashburger replacing BK? That's an upgrade for sure! Wonder how much traffic they'll get though.

I hate how CET runs that 10/6 Ace$ trap though. Trips paying 3 is a big deal. But glad to hear she hit bigger hands than trips on it!

Great report, we stay at Rio and look forward to smash burger as an option as we do not like Burger King.

    Thanks for posting.
The sports book at Rio has food place beside it and the food is very good.

    Tim
