The bands brought in by the Fremont Street Experience are what keep me coming there. I see them about every 3 weeks. Schedules for the bands are posted in the entertainment calendar on the official Fremont Street Experience site.

The Main Street stage tends to have smaller bands and DJ's. And, it's got the smallest sound system.

The 1st Street stage tends to have regular local bands and occasional headliners. The 3rd Street stage also has local bands and headliners - and it has the largest (and best) sound system.

In my opinion, the local bands brought in are top notch. Though some are "House Bands" elsewhere in LV, they rate much better than what you would expect of a house band.

    My favorite local bands:
    Zowie Bowie
    Nevermind
    Sam Riddle
    Monroy
    Kid Hollywood
    Arena

The headliners are typically brought in on holidays or big Summer weekends. They can range from REO Speedwagon to The Presidents of the USA and Everclear, etc. When they play, the area around the stage is blocked off and there's a security perimeter you have to go through.

I like to show up a bit early at the 1st Street Stage and sit at the Whiskey Licker patio attached to Binions. They have tables and a bar - but no cocktail service.

The 3rd Street stage has two sitting areas - the 4Queens patio and the Owner's Box at the D. You can just walk into the 4Queen's patio - which has cocktail service. Getting a seat at the D requires going through a D host - and they (so far) have been very tight with them. If it's a big headliner, the 4Queens may charge a fee - whereas at the D it depends on having connections.

Definitely see UTE's list and I would add Yellow Brick Road, Clockwork and Venus Rising to it.

You can Google these bands with the phrase "Las Vegas Band" and get some video results.

I have seen some good bands at Freemont. What I don't really like is the trend to dress up with wigs and try to look like an 80's hair metal band.

I enjoyed Kid Hollywood on my last trip. If you like 80s Butt Rock, you'll like Kid.

Kid Hollywood is comprised of Monroy members. Monroy is actually their base, whereas Kid Hollywood is a band they formed just for fun. It's amazing how many people don't get the joke. The members of Monroy put on silly wigs and swagger around the stage one night a week as Kid Hollywood - a hair band. It's meant to be over the top. That's the point.

Most Definitely Yellow Brick Road. They play GREAT cover music of 70s & 80s rock and roll. They're downtown on one of the stages most Thursday nights.

Caught Arena playing this weekend and enjoyed it. The guys look a little goofy with the whole hair band look, but they rocked!

Yeah, I know it's Monroy. It was fun. What's not to get?
