So I want to stay at MSS, my wife wants Fremont. If the summer offers roll in and I get free nights at Fremont this is a moot post, but I want to book something now just in case since I can always cancel.

I gave my wife the choice thinking she'd pick the nicer room at MSS, since I plan to play there a lot....stupid me, she said she wants Fremont so she can walk out on to FSE alone without worry (100 bucks she never will as I am always up before her and we usually play in the same places) also because of the DD in the casino.. again I'd be the one going down in the afternoon to get the queen her coffee anyway, but whatever..

I was gonna book with the "don't get stripped deal" where I get a $15 food credit per night. Promo said I must charge it to the room.

    Two Questions

    1. Can I charge 777 to a room at the Fremont?
    2. Does anyone know if I have to do $15 per day or can 1 meal cover the $30 for the two nights?

Again if I get my standard 2 night per month Fremont comp I have gotten all winter and spring up till May, I will not need this. (not sure if they would do the summer or not) It seems like a good just in case deal to try an lock in.

As of a year ago you could charge 777 to a Fremont room. I don't know if that has changed.

You might point out to your wife if you take the MSS bridge to Cal, go downstairs and walk to the east end off the casino, walk outside, cross the street and and boom, you are at Binion's back door. Walk through Binion's to Fremont St.

You used to be able to do this at Vegas Club back door, but that is now closed, so you have to walk up Main Street a little way to use the side door.

She knows about that... we took that last year there...

She said it seemed so far away.. in her defense though last summer her knee flared up in pain.

Either way since I went out alone last time I want her to have the choice... unless it is free, then she gets no choice.:evillaugh

Are the bathrooms at MSS bigger Joe? That may be a selling point for her...

Since we normally are comped a suite at MSS, I'm not a good one to answer. But, there are a number of people on VMB who have stayed at all three Boyds and I'm sure you'll get an answer.
FYI if bathroom size is an issue, avoid Plaza. They are tiny in the tub/toilet area.

Oh thanks... she wanted me too look at the Plaza, but when I told her it was $90 more without the food credit she said no dice...

Let me clarify. The redone rooms and furnishings at Plaza are very nice. They have a tub/toilet area with a door that closes. That door swings within 2 inches of both the tub and toilet. There is a separate vanity outside of that door and it is decent size and that is also the place to hang your clothes and it also had an ironing board stored there.

Found a couple of pics from Plaza
    Vanity area

Thanks Joe. it seems like the Vanity is outside the Bathroom unlike Fremont where is it all crammed into a tiny location. Generally though it does not matter all that much, I get ready first and go gamble on the ponies in the book or play VP while she get ready anyway.

I am just trying my best to push her to MSS if we have to pay.

MSS has the separate vanity which is never a bad thing. I don't mind the walk if we are going to be spending time on Fremont. My wife's favorite Boyd breakfast is at the Paradise cafe so if we are going solely for breakfast and then coming back to play it's a hassle.

I like the Fremont... always seem to get a 6th floor room facing Casino Center Blvd...far enough away from FSE to allow me to sleep at midnight.
I like that Dunkin' Donuts is 20 steps away from the elevator door... and two-deck blackjack is only 20 more steps after that.
My casino choices right out of the Fremont's doors are: Golden Nugget, Binion's, Four Queens & 'theD'.
Casino choice right outside of MSS? The Cal.
Granted, 777 has great food and a fun vibe...and I love the atmosphere at MSS... but I get wanting Fremont as a home-base.

Seems like forever from now, but the flights are booked, so it counts!

Oh I get it as well.... I do not dislike Fremont at all... Hope I did not come off that way....

In response to the OP's question about the size of MSS bathroom, the tub/toilet area I find a little tight. Also, the shower heads (which are well documented here on VMB) are quite short. I am over 6' and have to bend down to rinse my hair. This does not stop us from staying at MSS though! We have never stayed at Fremont so I cannot draw a comparison.

I stayed at fremont and it is tight as well...

Why does this become a debatable post if you get free nights? I'm confused. It would seem to me that any debate would cease if there are free rooms to be had. What am I missing?

Oh it is not... right now I have no free nights after may. The special they are running is for anyone.. $15 food per night up to 7.... so I want to book that as a backup in case I do not get any offers for the summer. I just started getting fremont offers this sept, usually 2 nights/month. But I have not received anything past may which seems past the usual deadline for me. Just wanna lock in a low rate and a good deal as a backup.

Sorry if I was not clear.

sorry, I misunderstood. when you say something is moot, you say it is debatable. or perhaps i misunderstand the definition.

    moot
    mo͞ot/Submit
    adjective
    1.
subject to debate, dispute, or uncertainty, and typically not admitting of a final decision.

Interesting.... seems like it is an American thing to have it mean it is not up for debate... which is how I use it and heard it used....

That is interesting. I always thought moot point meant it was a foregone conclusion.

I learn something new every day here.

now i'm confused. how a word has come to mean the opposite of what it means is baffling.
