  1. The first time me and my missus were in Vegas we were there for 10 days and didn't manage to fit in going to Freemont/Downtown - something we will fix soon. What things should I look to do when we are there? What about food places and drink places people would recommend?

That's an open ended question. More precise questions will return better results.

I like all of Vegas. DT has the rich history (first phone in Vegas). Besides Fremont and establishments in close proximity there are many things to do e.g.:
    • Bone Yard
    • Mob Museum
    • FSE link
    • Neon Museum
    • All sorts of entertainment, food, restaurants, gambling, drinking

    Here are my personal favorites:

For breakfast - Hash House A Go Go at the Plaza (Big portions, quality food and a fair price)
For lunch/dinner - Magnolia's at Four Queens (Good quality at a cheap price)
For beer - Main Street Station Casion and Brewery (1.75 micros at the bar) or go the brewery for some good pub food.
Things to see - Fremont Street Experience (at night), Free stage shows, Binion's Poker Room (worth seeing for the history if you're a poker fan), restored classic slots at Golden Gate Casino (back of casino), Blarney Stone at D Las Vegas (upstairs), Golden Nugget at the Golden Nugget Casino, Million Dollars at Binion's (free photo), Restored train outside Main Street Station.

It's fun to just wing it on Fremont Street as well - particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. Just start on one end, or even on Fremont Street East, and walk through, heading toward whatever catches your eye. There are so many things to do that the night will be over before you know it - and you will not have seen everything.
