Fyi I was staying at the MGM for 2 nights and had purchased a $25 freeplay for MGM and when I tried to redeem it the mlife person said it required a 3- night stay. I looked again later and it states a 2-night stay. Anyone else have this told to them?

Did you also redeem any other Freeplay rewards? Doing so would require a 3 night stay. That's the only reason I could see them saying that, unless they saw the 3 night requirement for multiple Freeplay rewards and got confused.

Did they change the policy from 2 nights to 3 nights after you bought it? If so, your voucher should still be good, but anyone purchasing it in the future would need to stay 3 nights. I would argue with them on principal, not on the amount of the money.
