I was wondering if you earned points using your freeplay in a slot machine?

    No, you don't.

However, that being said, once you have played your freeplay through, you should be accumulating points.

For example, you have $50 of freeplay and put $20 cash into the machine. You are playing $2.00 a pull. It is my understanding that after 25 pulls, your free play is over and you will be accumulating points.

Depends. When i get free play at a CET property its always in the form of slot play coupons. Those DO earn points! At MGM you get nothing but the play.

CET must be the exception. All the downtown/Station/Boyd casinos do it electronically. I have free play to cash in at a CET casino in May, I'll check it out then.

OK, that being said, if there way for the casino to identify the freeplay, such as electronic delivery, then no points.

I just looked at my CET Express Play coupon. You insert that into a machine. If you can cash it out immediately, I would say yes, it would accumulate points. If it's not cashable, I would have to still say no points.

I will find out in May for sure.

I read yesterday on sevenstarsinsider.com that you no longer get points on freeplay at CET Las Vegas properties.

You also don't get points at AC properties, NOLA, Tunica and most other CET properties. There are a few like Reno, Tahoe, and a couple of local Horseshoes that you still get points.

I was just there at the end of January and I earned points on my CET free play. I just played at Harrah's Joliet 2 weeks ago and I earned tier credits on FP there as well. You slip in a $100 free play vouched and spin 10 times at $10 per spin and you will have 20 tier credits on your card immediately. Whatever you won with those 10 spins can then be cashed out. If it changed recently that would be news to me. Link anyone?

    UPDATE!
Sure enough, as of March 1st it looks like Las Vegas is off the list! Well that sucks. They cut free play in half for most everyone and now the little free play you get no longer earns tier credits?

Interesting. I used free play at PH on the 2nd and swear it accumulated tc's like usual on slots. I wasn't paying the highest attention though.

According to the 7 star website - it looks like Vegas quit making points on freeplay as of March 11.

I've played at a casino that used electronic freeplay and let you earn points on it. Earning points on freeplay is definitely less common. CET allowing it is a big exception though, but it looks like Vegas recently stopped.

As stated above, it depends on the property. Here is a list of the places I go to and yes or no re earning points on free play:

    Rampart - yes
Coast properties - no on free play but yes on converting points to play
    Palms - yes
    Tuscany - yes
    Hard Rock - no
    Westgate - no
    South Point - yes
    Silverton - no
    Four Queens - no
    The D - yes
    Aquarius (Laughlin) - yes

    Hope this helps.
