Are you able to use free slot play on penny slots that have progressive bonuses that can be won? Trying to plan how to use my free slot play. I got $450 to use. Trying to maximize my use of it.

    It depends on the property.
Generally speaking, if the progressive is not those state wide linked progressive, it should be OK

I know you can at CET casinos with their freeplay. It works just like cash. I know you can't at M Life Casinos, hooters or Trop. I don't believe you can at Treasure Island, either...pretty positive on that

Generally. Some casinos are really picky about blocking them. Others restrict a handful of them, usually really hot, new ones.

TI is where I have my free play at. If I can't use it on the progressive slots that's fine. I'm sure I won't have a problem spending it on other games. Lol.

When I get freeplay I will use some on penny machines but I also use it on $1 and $5 machines as they tend to have a higher pay bacl percentage. When I play penny machines I play max bet since I won't do that with my own money

I'm sure you can play slots that have Progressive slots with free play. My local allows a "standalone game to be played with free play, and another gambler said he hit a handpay on free play,(a lot of times you can only get handpays by winning the Grand Progressive, i.e, 88 Fortunes,) so I know it's allowed to do free play n Progressive slots. :)

As said, it varies widely. As to which machines to play - I treat it exactly like cash and play the same machines I put my own cash into.

In most cases if the progressive jackpot is just for that one machine or a bank of machines within the casino (IE: Life of Luxury, Gone Fishin', QuickHits) then you should be able to use your free play on those. If the progressive jackpot covers multiple casinos, like a statewide or nationwide jackpot (IE: Megabucks, Cash Connection, Monopoly Luxury Diamonds) then usually you can't use free play on that.

But as was said: if you can't use free play on a machine there will usually be a sticker saying you can't

Not sure what you mean by "maximize my use" as progressive slot machines usually have some of the worst paybacks because part of the payback has to go to the progressive and the costs to run and maintain it and with the really big progressives the odds of hitting those is very very very small

I would agree with another poster. Maximize play and progressive are mutually exclusive. The larger the jackpot, the lower the chances of getting anything back from your play.
