I received a corporate offer for 2 free nights Sunday-Thursday for the Aria. I want to stay 3 nights instead, but want to get a cheaper hotel. I was thinking about getting a room at the Monte Carlo for the first night then using my 2 free rooms at the Aria for the rest of the trip. I plan to gamble at the Aria before I check in at the Aria. How will this be viewed?

only staying 3 nights, changing hotels in the middle seems like a big hassle that will take away a bunch of your time. especially only to save a few bucks on one night's hotel. why not just call Aria and tell them you want to stay 3 nights and see what they offer you? they may offer to comp you the third night or they may give you a nice rate on the third night. either way is better than changing hotels.

but your "trip" at Aria will be viewed as the number of days that you play there if it's longer than your actual stay. so if you stay 2 nights, but play 3-4 days, that will be your trip.

What shifter said - call Aria and see if they'll give you 3 nights, I'd say chances are good you'll get them if they're all Sun - Thurs.

And if Aria doesn't come through, you almost surely will be able to get 3 nights at Monte Carlo by calling, although it sounds like you're targeting Aria for this trip.

I do not have a host at Aria. I usually call the VIP booking number sent through the offers. Do you think the person who books the hotels will give me an extra night? If not, how much do you think an extra night will cost?

I haven't made a reservation over the phone in a couple of years, but I think if you call the number in the offer, the person you speak with should have the leeway to offer you a 3rd night either comped or at casino rate, which depending on the night, could be anywhere from $20 to 30% less than the rack rate.

Monte Carlo is likely to charge you the resort fee even on comped nights, and Aria does not. So take that into consideration when you do the numbers. WhenAria sends me an offer it usually includes the option to book extra nights at $79, so definitely make e call and see what they can do.
