    I got some mailings today.
The slot Tournament is July 19-21.
They have $80 in freeplay waiting for me in July.
And if I were to hit 4 Queens at the 4 Queens, I’d get a $25 bonus. Gee. Like the old days. They used to give a jacket for a 4 Queens hit.

My last visit, I got 4 Queens 3 times. The bartender said at one time they gave $500, then a tee shirt, now "good job". Nice to see the $25, but that goes thru Aug 31. I get there Sept. 2.

I got my first ever mailing ever from Four Queens as well. They must be softening up, considering my play there is even less than in the past.

My 4 Queens mailer was "lost in the mail". Probably tossed by one of my neighbors, thinking it was trash mail. Haha!

Good news, however! I called reservations yesterday. They were very nice, looked me up, and gave me the room comp for July.

But, I did not know about the $25 for 4 Queens.

So, Dewey, you did me a big favor!

Now, did you guys know that Binion's is offering $25 FSP for 4 Jacks during the same time period?
Yep, it was on the every other month postcard that they send me.

There is a bank of four 9/6 DDBP machines near the back & close to the craps tables. Not progressive like the 4 Queens bar, but for some odd reason, I Ike to play them in the mornings, when it's quiet.

Also, that generates food comps at Binion's .

So.....$25 FSP at 4Queens for quad queens, and $25 FSP at Binion's for quad jacks. I'm excited!

However.....the postcard stated that you must call the slot attendant to verify it & load it. So, it is not automatically credited by the machine.

    Still, sounds like fun!

Oh, Dewey, if you read this, would you please tell me where the HDX picks up in downtown to journey to Sam's Town? The RTCSN website says LV Blvd & Ogden. But, your recent report made me think that it had been moved, and there was poor signage.

    Thanks!

You can get the free shuttle from The Cal to Sam's. It departs on the east side at 1st St. First run starts at 8.30 AM and about every 1:15 after that. There is also a stop at Fremont, near the lobby entrance. First run at 8:15 AM. Same free shuttle. PM me if you want the exact times.

I got the same mailer for Binions just today. Robert, there is also 9/6 DDB on the row of slant tops near the high limit slot area as well. And your right about the generating food comps at Binions, it's easy. I figured I have enough for about 100 gamblers chili dog specials, or one big blow out meal at the steakhouse.

It took me three tries and once I just got on the SDX at Binions, went to the BTC and then switched to the HdX there. An awful waste of time. There is a redirection paper sign over on Ogden but it is hard to see and ripped in half by some angry bus patron so that the Carson Street stop is almost impossible to read.

To get the HDX or BHX out of downtown (at least temporarily) go to the D pool corner (Carson and 4th) and kitty corner to it and down the block a bit on Carson is the pickup, marked by a cheezy yellow paper sign. There is no shelter so it can get hot. It runs about every 20 minutes but it is best to have a schedule in your pocket and go five minutes early rather than wait longer. Guys waited and watched from the shade of the Fremont parking garage and then jay walked across the street. This is a bad idea. Every time I go locals tell me about jay walking fines and they are pretty hefty. This trip I found out that if you step off the curb and look down the road to see if the bus is coming, you can be fined for "intended jaywalking." Because you might not have time to cross Carson with the light, I'd recommend waiting for the bus right at the stop.

If you are at the stop and look over at the D, you see above the pool the huge poster of legs and high heels. Then directly across the street is a sign that says, "to Fremont parking".

Remember it is only temporary and once the construction is done on Ogden I expect the stop will go back to right across from the Downtown Grand (old Lady Luck) where it was permanently moved from across the street from the Gold Spike.

The dropoff on the way back to downtown is in the same spot, between the Gold Spike and the Cabana rooms.

And if you go to Sam's Town on the Thursdays and play live poker and you flop 4 Aces, you get $1000. Nice bonus. And Thursdays is the time to go for the free old folks Vegas review, different every week, at 2 PM, called Toast of the Town. it is the best show bargain in Vegas. Getting the queens at the 4 Queens, the jacks at Binions, and the four Aces at Sam's Town live poker would really make a fine day of bonus gambling.

In my 26 days I had one quad with pockets, Jacks at the Palms. I think I got $50. At Sam's Town I had my Aces cracked just 12 minutes before the promo time was up. I posted that and other poker stories on the poker board. http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?p=800964#post800964
Coming back from Sam's Town you can catch the HDX at Nellis. Or you can catch the BHX right in front of the Eastside Cannery and then switch at Nellis. The HDX is a lot faster, less crowded, and with fewer down and out folks riding.

Other bus bits I posted here:

Joe....thanks for shuttle info. Sounds great!

Oxygenator....thanks for location of more 9/6 DDBP at Binion's . May come in handy.

Dewey.....thanks for details on HDX. The whole system is a bit of a puzzle at times. But I enjoy working with the puzzle . I am 63. Last year, I walked over to BTC, showed them my photo ID, and the nice lady there made me a RTC senior citizen ID. She showed me how to insert it into the TVM to get a discount on passes. Now, that was a year ago (or more), and there have been some changes.

Anyway, when I take the WAX, I show that ID & give them $1. Perhaps my Texas DL would suffice. Not sure. Might be up to the driver. Really enjoyed your last report. Joe's recent one also!

    Thanks, all!
