I am confused as I see it is a MyVegas reward to get access to the Foundation Room. So if we wanted to go have dinner there we would otherwise have to pay to get into the place to be able to eat?

It's been some years since I've been there but it is a private "club". Open to the public on certain nights. I'm guessing the reward lets you dine there on a private night.

I used the MyVegas reward for the Foundation Room last April. I called and made my reservation and mentioned the reward and they were going to reserve a patio table for eating off of the appetizer menu. Because of it being a cool, windy, rainy night, they instead offered a private lounge area for my wife and I, and was also offered the dinner menu. After dinner, the waitress asked to see my membership card, and when I mentioned the MyVegas reward, she asked to see it and when she came back she said that there was no problem at all.

What I don’t know (which may ultimately not answer your question) is if I was offered the dinner menu because I had the MyVegas voucher, or if it was a miscommunication when the hostess offered the private lounge and the waitress assumed that I was a full member.

    But it was really awesome!

Be advised, the cover charge only goes into effect after I believe 8 or 9pm, if you're getting there before that it's a waste of your reward. I learned this the hard way on my last trip.

Interesting so if we went there before that we could go in and have a few drinks and enjoy the view? I guess I could buy them and then refund them if we weren't using them. They don't appear to count against your three MGM. But they do say in the fine print that you have to reserve a day ahead of time.

If I remember right the Foundation Room reward is non-refundable, at least through myVegas online channels. That may have changed, I haven't played MV for a long time. I don't believe there's a cover if you've made restaurant reservations. The whole reward is kinda pointless unless you're just going to the lounge at night.

That is correct, but the points are refundable if you contact customer service.

Yes! I've done this a couple times. In fact, I've been invited/solicited free entry to the Foundation Room more times than I can count when just walking through the Mandalay Bay casino..Anybody that's not dressed like a bum can take the private elevator up to the lounge before 9, maybe 10pm. We were there on weekdays sometime around 7 or 8pm. The place was dead both times. Must have had the worst Mojito of my life but being out on that patio is a pretty cool experience.
