Really want to take my DW to one of these just for a drink w/view. Mix I understand is at the top of THE HOtel; open to all. Foundation Room on top of MB. Here is where I get confused. I read FR is members only but website says non members can get in after 10p also there might be a fee for entry. Other places I've read that anyone can enter anytime on weekdays. Anyone been there that can tell me what's the story. And which would you recommend for the view. Didn't want to hijack another thread that mentioned these places . Thanks all.

I love Foundation Room. My understanding is that it used to be completely members-only except for one night a week, but that hasn't been the case for a while (and in fact, you can usually find people on the casino floor handing out buy-one-get-one-free drink coupons). I believe they theoretically charge a cover after 10pm, but my advice would be to just go there earlier and say you're there to eat; every time I've done that I've been waved right along. Then just hang a left, grab a drink at the bar, and then go stand out on the patio. One of my favorite views in Vegas.

You can get in either without a problem. Our last trip the promoters were handing out passed to FR right in front of the entrance. This was on a Sunday night. The drink prices were raised though.

I prefer Mix, go in the eve and watch the sunset and do their champagne toast. It is a guaranteed good time. The views are nearly the same, so no worry there.

No issues with getting into Foundation Room. It is now owned by Live nation and sometimes they inforce a cover

The view from Mix about 2 years ago. The view from foundation room will be a slightly different perspective - closer to strip, so Luxor will appear more to the left of the picture.

The view from the main patio at Foundation Room is different than that of mIX. This pic was taken not long after sunset in mid-March.

The Luxor pyramid is to the far lower left. (Only the lower corner of the pyramid is visible because the Mandalay Bay tower sits closer to LV Blvd.) You are able to see most of the Luxor Tower in the mid-lower left side of the pic.
