He's 74 ,he shot a 76. Granted the slope rating on this course is only 117,but I still think it's better than most guys half his age could do. I managed to hack out an 83 so if I can maintain that for the next 14 years ,I can do it. Finally,I have a reason to live!

    Congrats to your buddy!

(I often shoot my age, if I quit after nine holes.)

Very interesting story in Sports Illustrated about Jim Kaat, former big league pitcher and announcer, who has shot his age (75, I think) both right-handed and left-handed!!! He goes out on the course and plays two balls (during slack time, I guess), one lefty and one righty. He is something like an 8 with either hand!

My Uncle Clem shot his age on a course called Loyal Oak when he was 78. He carried the card around for the rest of his life.

I remember him damm good pitcher. One of the best golfers at the course where I live is a guy who was a career minor leager and ended up being a bp pitcher for both NY teams.

I pray I live long enough to shoot my age. It makes me happy every time I'm matched up with a guy in his 70s on the golf course and he can still smack the ball around.
