Currently booked for 2 weekend nights in a GO room at Flamingo but I've heard they've really downsized their pool for the younger ones and are quite rude and strict in their access to the pool.

Will be spending 1.5 weeks in Vegas with two younger teen boys and am considering moving over to Rio for same price. We will have a car so getting around is not a concern. We will also be staying at MGM & Mirage since they have great pools.

I've never stayed at the Rio but should I consider rebooking there?

I would recommend Rio if you have three people in the room, more space to relax in. As far as the pool, I don't know, never used it.

Rio rooms are huge and great since you have the boys. If Rio was on the strip it would be my only home. Flamingo rooms will get crowded with 3/4 people in them. Rio also has a fridge in the room, will keep your expenses down with the kids if you stop and buy water/sodas. Pool will be less crowded at Rio then Flamingo also. Enjoy!

The problem you are going to have at the RIO is there is really nowhere for the teenagers to walk too, whereas if you are on the strip they can walk to many activities.

Only people over 21 are allowed into the "main" pool area at the flamingo and they do check at the gate. The "family" pool gets quite crowded as it is much smaller, and many adults go there as well to avoid the loud noise and partying at the other pool.

Have you considered Bally's ? There rooms are actually much larger than the go rooms, and if you can get comps at Flamingo you should be eligible for Ballys as well. Bally's has a food court on the lower level, and is connected to Paris, and Planet Ho/miracle mile shops are a quick walk as well.

Just something to consider, but I don't think the Rio is a good option.

Pool area at rio is fantastic. Along the same lines as what is at flamingo

The deli in the rio is pretty good too

In your scenario with the car and all, I would definitely go with Rio.

I know your rooms are comped but have you looked into Station casinos or Southpoint? South Point is closest to the strip and has an arcade, movie theater, and bowling. Sunset Station and Greev Valley Ranch both come to mind for Station properties closest to the strip.

If you do rebook at Rio your kids could walk over to Palms as they do have a theater there.
